Beit known that l, HARRY Il. HonNsBY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois', have invented a certain new and useful .improvement in Distributing-Boxes, of which the following is a full, clear, concise, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in distrihiding-centers. These devices as new constructed consist usually of a box in which is suitably supported a panel-board of insulating material. Contact-bars are mounted upon the panel-hoard and the mains or supply-wires are suitably connected therewith. Also upon said panel-board are a plurality of binding-posts connected to said contact bars or strips in any desirable manner. rlhe conH duits for the various circuit-wires are brought to the box7 and from there the circuit-wires extend unprotected from one another to lthe various binding-posts. lf one ofthe circuit- .wires burns out, the others are also burned.
lt is the object of my invention to protect the wires of the different circuits from one another to prevent the destruction of the wires of several burning out.
Another object is to keep the wires of the various circuits distinct f rom one another, so that a particular circuit mavbe readily located.
A still further object of .my invention is to provide conduits for the several circuits leading to a point in proximity to the place of attachment of the circuit-wires upon the panel in order that said wires may be inserted into and extracted from they conduits with facility.
To these ends` my invention consists of the details of construction, arrangement, and combinations of parts, as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.

A casing 13 is arranged around said board in any desirable manner for inclosingthe saine and the various partsniounted thereon. The back of said board is provided with a number of grooves or channels 14, each of which leads from one of the holes l2 in said hoard to the edge thereof. In the drawings are shown live holes for the circuitwircs arranged upon each side of the conducting-bars. The channels leading to the two upper holes on each run to the top edge o the board and toward the center thereof, and 'the holes leading from the lower two holes on each side run to the lower edge of the board and also toward the center thereof. The channel for the other hole on cach side. of the board leads lo the side of the board corresponding therewith.

The passages between the boards are'conwithout projections, so that the end of a wire passing 1n either direcy caught in its passage,-4 and also the connection between said passages and their respective conduits is made .smooth for the same reason. Both of vvthe boards also have their meeting faces provided with corresponding grooves 16, extending entirely across the boards and forming a passage through which the main supplywires -17 pass. ,The binding-posts for the conducting-bars are connected with the main supply-wires by wires 18, which pass through theopening provided therefor.
In the construction illustrated in Figs..7 8, 9, 10, and 1 1 in lieu of forming the passages to thel holes by grooves in boards a series o f pipes 1 9`is provided, which communicate with the holes.
