.Be it known thatVWe,'ADAM-McMULLEN and JOHN H. ROC1'C,of Sterling, in the county 'of Whitesdes, and.

in the State'of Illinois, have. invented certain new and useful Improvements in Closed Homes-Tug and Breast- -Collar and do hereby decla-re that the following is a full` clear, and ex act description thereof, reference being,` had to the accompanying drawingsand to theletters of" reference markedrthcreo'n. 'y

In the ,annexed drawings, making'part of this specification, A-'represents c breast-collar which is made closed infront, and which is padded in the usual manner.,l This collar is provided with the usual neck-straps G and'J for supporting it.' C represents a brace, which is made of sheet metal, and coveredw'ith leather. This brace has a hole through it at euchcnd, by means of which itis riveted to the collar A.

B B represent hames-tugs, and D D neck-yoke tugs,`whch hames-tugs are provided internally with plates of meta-l, intvhichffa-n eye is formed, through which they are riveted to thecollar A.- Land Lrepresent largevheaded rivets, which pass through the ends of the brace C, and through the tugs B und D, to confine Ehem to the-collar. These riv'ets .make u. ,veryfstrong end permanent attachment, and at the -simc time act. as pivots upon which the tugs'turnto accommodate themselves to the motion ofthe Whittle-tree, or to itshheight,l and also to the motion and height of the-neck-yoke P Preprescntrings, which are secured intheforwardendsl ofthe tugs D D.

F represents a strap which lies in front nf the collar LA, und which connects the two rings P P, This strap F receives and supports the'strap from the neck-yoke or the vehicle-pole.

H H represent straps whichfiastcn' at one end into the ring-s PIP, and at their'other ends into rings which are secured to that portion ofheneck-strap marked GQ y These straps H support the neck-yoke'pole, through tugs D and strap F, independently of the breast-yoke.

Itvwiil be seen that bymeans of the arrangement herein described,.wefare enabled to make light breast-strap harness answer for double teams as .Well as single, and that the tugsV are enabled to accommodate themselves to the variousmovements ofthe 'whietrees and neck-yoke or pole of the vehicle. y
