Be it known that I, CHARLES RErsrLn, of Brooklyn, in-the county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented, made, and applied to use, a certain new and useful Improvement in TumblePHolders;l and I do hereby declare the following to be a. full, clear, and exact description of said invention, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making part of this specification, which represents- A section of my holder as applied to a tumbler. l

In the drawing, a is a. tumbler, b the handle. c e is aring, soldered to the lower part of the handle. d is a projection, permanently attached to the handle, to which is secured, by a pin, a button, e. v v

The object of my invention is to produce a holder for soda-water tumblers, which shall have a handle, and

lwhich can be attached to a tumbler quickly, and rmly, and' that can be manufactured at a comparatively small a Cost.

In drawing soda-water, it very frequently overtlowsthe tumbler, making it `impossible to handle thetumbler without soiling the hands; blut, with my improved holder, that ditiiculty is entirely overcome, as the handle which I provide sets off from and above the tumbler.

Holders for tumblers'have been made, but they are large and occupy a great deal of room, and have a much greater surface to be cleaned than those made on my improved plarr, arid cost considerably more to -manufacture.

I make my handle, t, ofGerman silver, brass, orany other material, to which is soldered a. ring, c o, which is made flaring, so that it will it the sides of a tumbler. d is a projection, which ts on the top edge of the tumbler, to which projection is xed a movable button, e, which works on the pin f, whieh,"when pressed down, retainsthe tumbler'in the holder. v

To attach my holder to' a. tumbler, it isonly necessary to place the bottom f the tumbler in ring c e and press the projection d over the top edge ofthe tumbler, having previously raised the 'button e, and then, by turning the button down, it will be seen that it is impossible to remove the handle without turning the button,

and if a tumbler should be broken in use, it willrequirc but a. moment of time to fit the samehandle/ to another tumbler.

l The helder .can be made ornamental by engraving or chasing, and, when plated and. burnished, will tend t0 give the tumbler a handsome appearance.

' VMy improved holder will be found very convenient to be used on tumblersv in which hot drinks are served.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is A tumbler-holder, having a handle, b, ring c e, projection d, and button e, in substantially the manner described and shown, and for the purposes set forth.
