Beit known that I, JOSEPH A. LATHAM, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven, and State of Oonnecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Garters; and I do hereby declare the` following, when taken` in connection with the accompanying drawings, and the letters of reference-marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exa-ct description of the same, andjwhich said drawings constitute partei' this specifi sent, in-' Figure 1, a top view, and in Figure 2 a section on line :e w. This invention relates to an improvement in garters, the object of which is to avoid the cording of' tbc limbs, so as to interfere with the circulation, and consists in the insertion of a metallic or similar spring within the band, and providing the band upon thc inner side with several cushions, so as to leave a space between tbc said cushions, the cushions only 4tou-ching the limb.
