Referring to the drawings, 1 represents a piccolo.
The music-holder consists of an open circular hand or clamp 2, the separated ends of which are made parallel with a diainetrical line and provided with a tightening-screw 3. To the outside of one of the ends of the clamp 2 is fastened a rod A, to the end of which an ordinary music-rest 5 is adjustably and removably connected. In a similar position on the other end of the clamp is secured a rod which terminates in a flattened ring 6, adapted for application to the chin of the player, with which it is pressed into contact to form a rest. 7 is another rod pivoted to the tighteningscrew 3 and terminating in a ring 9, through which the left thumb of the player is inserted to connect the hand of the player with the instrument.
The ring 2 is clamped on the piccolo by means of the tightening-screw 3, but not so tightly as to prevent a slight pivotal movement of the thumb-piece, which in most cases is required.
I claim as my-invention 1. In a music-holder, the combination of a clamp-ring, a chin-support,and athulnb-piece, substantially as, and for the purpose specilied.
