Be it known that-we, Faninnnren DEN/'amsn` and Jnoon MILLER, of Brooklyn, `Kings county, New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Mongers, Feed-Boxes, die.; and we dohercby declare that the fol-` lowing is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilledin the art to `make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part'of this Specification, in which-4- Figurc l'represents a front elevation, partly in section, of our invention. The operation is simple and as follows: 'lhe 'end ci' thelever B, which has a heck-shaped termination, `is hooked over the cover L of the trough, so as-to hold it down.` Thcdial It is then turned, so that that hour at which itis desired the door a should he opened will stand opposite to the 4.haiid E. The pin '1L will thus he moved from under the ,pin o, and the bar F will be pulled down by the weight G,'thereby pulling the rodp and crank g, rods f, "crank e, rod d, and lever B, and disengaging the latter from the cover c', so tliat'the same will be opend by means of the weight as is indicated byred liu'cs in l 1. The position of the bar F and its appendageg when the door is opened, is also shown by redlines in lig..1.

The free (not weighted) end of thislever is held under a, pin, z, which projects from a. bell-crank, K,iwhich is connected by o. rod, L, with the bei'. Gr, and which is provided with n spring, a',
as shown. The operation is the same as described for the other apparatus. When the-lever D falls into the notch in the disk z', the lever G will fall and will pull the rod L, thereby drawing the pin z oft the lever J'. The
letter will then draw the rod or rods w, andwill thereby turn the crank-21 and reise the rod u. The shaft I will thereby be turned so tha-t the hookvwill be drawn may from the catch s, when the bottom will drop and the groin fall into the trough. This latter arrangement een be specially used where a number of feed-boxes o1'l managers nre t'o'be opened at once, the zipparatns leading to each manger being connected with the lever J in the saine manner as the rod w is connected with it.
- What we claim as new, und desire to secure by Letters Patent, is V 1. Connect-ing:r the trap-doors of mangers, feed-boxes, or troughs, with clock-work, in suche, manner that `the said doors can be simultaneously opened at any desired time, substantially as and for the purpose herein shown and described. 5
