COVER FOR COOKING-STOVE BOILERS.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that we, THOMAS F. HALL and Gnome ECKEL, of Richmond, in the county of Wayne, and State of Indiana, have invented a newand useful Improvement in Covers for Boilers for Cooking-Stoves; and we do hereby declare thnt the following isa'full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a. perspective view, and
Figure 2 is a. longitudinal vertical section.
The same letters areemployed in both figures in the indication of parts which are identical.
A is the rim, and A the top of an ordinary cover for the boilers of cooking-stoves. On the top A we place the band B, covered by the close top B, to which the handles are applied, thus forming a. wateuchamher over the ordinary top of a. boiler. C is a. funnel, passing through the chamber and opening into the boiler v through which water may be poured into the boiler. without removing the cover. D is a similar funnel, hut
opening into the upper water-chamber, through which it may be filled. The water thus introduced may be drawn oil through the pipe E, closed by a. faucet.
By this arrangement we are enabled to warm water for use in rinsing clothes and other purposes. The funnel 0 permits the introduction of water to prevent the boiler from overflowing when boiling without removing the cover, thus promoting both economy and usefulness.
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is In combination with the cover A A, we claim the water-chamber formed over the plate A, and constructed with two funnelsone, 0, opening through the upper chamber into the boiler below the cover, the other, D, opening into the upper chamber-and with the eduotion pipe E, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
