IMPRVEMENT IN GULTIVAI'ORS.
TO ALL 'WHM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, EDWARD NEWLON, of Monmouth, in the county of Warren, and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Machine for the Cultivation of Plants in Rows, to be styled a Double Cultivator; and I do hereby declare that the following is a\full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in Which- Figure 1 is a perspective view, and

a, a are side pieces of the. frame, fastened together by the iron arches c c, the tongue f being lbolted fast to the arches c c, thus forming a strong and durable frame. The wheels z'z'are attached to the frame pieces a a, so as to be moved up andf down, as shown at iig. 2, a being a piece or block, with a groove into which the axle m lits, and is secured by the bolt r. e e are double-acting joints moving on pivots s s, so as to allow thc ploughs y y to be moved freely up and down, or from side to side.
