INNER. SOLES FOR BOOTS AND SHOES.

Be it known that I, SAMUEL W. HUNTINGTON, of Augusta, in the county of Kennehec, and' State of Maine, have invented a new and useful Inner Sole for Boots or Shoes and do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, referencev being had to -the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, and in which- Figure 1 isa perspective view, and
Figure 2 asection of an inner sole madein accordance with my invention.
The object of this invention is to produce an inner sole for boots and shoes which shall be Water-proof, warm, and cheap. the invention consisting in the application to a piece of noollen cloth or carpeting of athin layer or sheet of lead, in manner and for the purpose as hereinafter described.
In the above-mentioned drawings the. sole is shown as composed of a piece of Woollen cloth, a, having a, sheet of lead, cemented to its under side, Vand so as to adhere firmly to it, the edges of the two being properly bound. t

I claim the improved inner soie for boots and-shoes, as composed of the woollen body a, in combination with the sheet of lead, in manner and for the purpose as described.
