IMPROVED SHAFT-TUG- TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, KASSON ERAZER, of the city of Syracuse,'New York, have invented a new and improved Shaft-Tug; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction of the same, and the form thereof when complete and ready for use, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a partofthis specification, in which- .Figure 1 represents a perspective view, and
Figure 2 a sectional view thereof.
The letters used represent corresponding parts wherever they occur.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use myinventiom -I will proceed to describe the construction of the same.
I stitch together or otherwise properly fit up a' leather strap, A, of the proper length when doubled together to encircle the shaft, and I enclose the same with a metal band, B. The metal band B- is made' to pass nearly around the strap A, and to answer the purpose of supporting the strap and holding it to its place, and it also afi'ords a strong bearing for the buckle-bar a of the buckle C. I do not make the band to pass entirely around the strap, but leave an opening at b, through which the buckle-bar a may be made to pass, and thus avoid the necessity of making and fitting a buckle especially for that purpose. Ordinarily any buckle in common use may thus beapplied to this invention. I hold the strap A and the band B together by means of rivets z z z,
using as many as may he needed to firmly keep the parts in place. A loop, 0, for the belly-band may be added when required.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, as a new article of manufacture,'is-- A shaft-tug'composcd of the parts A, B, and C, snbstantially as and for the purposes described.
