GEORGE E. I-IAAK, OF READING, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO GEORGE LERCI-I, OF SAME PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 639,030, dated December 12, 1899.
Application filed September 5, 1899. Serial No. 729,409. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. HAAK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Reading, in the county of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fish-Hook Receptacles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. i
This invention relates to an improved case or receptacle for conveniently and safely carrying fish-hooks.
The object of the invention is to produce a case for carrying a number of hooks in the pocket without danger of injuring either the hooks or the person carrying them and at the same time having free and easy access to them. v
The invention is fully described in the following specification and clearly shown in the accompanying drawings, in Which- Figure 1 is a plan View of my improved case, showing the arrangement of hooks therein. Fig. 2 is a sectional View taken on line no a; of Fig. 1.
The case A is preferably rectangular in form and is made of any suitable material.
A strip B of cork is located near the top of the case and extends the full Width of the inside of said case. Near the lower end and parallel with the cork is arranged another strip 0 of any suitable material, having a series of grooves a cut into its face at right angles to its length. To the face of this strip is secured aspring-bar D, adapted to be raised coming out of the grooves, and when it is desired to remove one or more the bar D is raised, the end of the snood removed from its groove, and the hook released from the cork B.
The great inconvenience and difficulty of handling fish-hooks are overcome by means of my improved receptacle, which is adapted to keep each hook free from the others and at the same time allow its easy removalwhen wanted, though a great number may be carried in a small case.
Having thus fully-described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a receptacle for carrying fish-hooks, a case A having a cork strip arranged horizontally therein adapted to receive the points of the hooks, a grooved strip of suitable material arranged parallel with said cork strip near the other end of the case adapted to receive the ends of the snoods in its grooves, and a bar D adapted to hold said ends in the grooves, all substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE E. HAAK.
