IMPROVEMENT IN PORTABLE FENCE.`
@ige rlphnic rifatta tn im ligase tettets, atmtmt mating .pitt .uf tigtsnmc.
'fro WHoM rr MAY coNoERN;
Be it known that I, JAMES LEFEBER, of Wayne county, Indiana, have invented certain new and usefui Improvements in Portable Fences; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and the letters of reference marked therein. In the drawings- Figure I represents a View of one section of my fence with its triangular support.
Figure 2 is a view of a section of my second plan ot' a section of fence with a double triangular support.
Figure 3 is a View of a solid triangular support inortiscd to admit the rails.
The nature ot' my invention consists in the construction of a portable fence, the posts or supports of which are made of two posts joined at the top, and diverging from each other, so as to form a triangle with the surfnet. ot' the ground, the base being fastened or connected byvany suitable device, the lower ends of the posts so arranged as to be inserted in the ground or rest upon its surface. i
In iig. 1, A A are the fliverging posts, and D the bottom cross-piece securing them together. B is a base representing the earth. There is a cross-piece, C, which serves to firmly connect the posts A A at the top, and also iinconn'e'ction with the cross-piece D serves as bearings or supports for the upper and lower rails l and 5 for connecting the panels ofthe fence. .In fig. 2, the posts A A are continued beyond thejunction, and form a second triangle immediately above the first, secured upon the top of the slats e e, and designedto receive the top rail or plank 7. The cross-bars C C C C and lD forni the bearings for the ends ofthe rails I, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and serving as connections for the succeeding panel ot' fence.
I do not claim broadly the posts A A, crossed or joined near the top.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The double triangle, consisting ofthe posts A A, barsE E, andcross-pieces e and rails 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, in combination with the cross-pieces C C G C and D D, all arranged and constructed substantially as and for the purposes set forth and described. l
' JAMES LEFEBER.
