TOHALL'WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, A. V. HEYDEN, of the city and county of Milwaukee, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bag-Holders; and I do hereby declare that -the following-is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable thoseskilled in the art to make and use the samejreferv ence being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view; and
Figure 2, a sectional view.

The object of my invention is to enable a person to fill bags with grain o1v other material with facility, and without other help to hold th'e bags open.
A is the foundation frame; B, upright stationary standard; C, movable standard; D, platform on lever connected with Standard C, having its'fulcrunl near its centre; E, arm connected by bolts to standards B and C; F, expanding jaws; G, Fulcrum-bolts to jaws F; I-I, ring te hold jaws in position when expanded; I, sta.- tionary platform. e
- Operation.
The mouth` of the bag is put over the `eiipanding jaws, ring H being slipped down to the fulcrum G to let thejaws come together sufficient for any sized bag; then slip the ring up the handles of the'jaws F, which will bring the handles together, expanding the jaws so as to hold the bag firmly open, the bottom of same resting on platform D; then ll the bag, and as the weight of material bears on the platform it settles down, throwing up the end of the lever vconnected. with standard C, which, rising, lifts the outer end of lever E, raising the bag Ato its full height, enabling the operator to lill the -bag full. v
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A bag-holder, when made with platform D connected to standard C, in combination with arm E, expanding jaws F, and ring H, substantially as and for the purpose described.
