In the embodiment of my invention selected My invention is not limited to any particu- -lar shape or construction nor to the use of any particular material, the gist of my invention consisting in the crimping or bending of the device, having an opening through which a warp-thread is passed, so that opposite sides or faces of the said device at opposite sides of the said opening shall be in different planes, to thereby enable a thread to' be passed through said opening without unduly bending the same, whether such devices are used for shedding the Warp-threads and detecting broken warp-threads or for either shedding or detecting, as the case may be.
Having described one embodiment of my invention, and without limiting myself as to details, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The described device for looms, it having an opening for the passage therethrough of a warp-thread, said device being crimped or bent longitudinally and throughout its entire length whereby the portions at opposite sides said opening are offset to provide a straight passage of the thread through said opening, and at the same time enable two or more of said devices when closely arranged side by side to have free and independent longitudinal movement, substantially as described.
2. In a loom, the combination with a frame,
and heddle-moving mechanism, of the heddleframes, and devices carried thereby and pro" vided with openings for the warp-threads, said devices being crimped or bent longitudinally for their entire lengths to offset portions at opposite sides of said opening to provide substantially straight passage of the warp-threads through said openings. substan tially as described.
3. In a loom, the combination with a frame, and a lay, of devices provided with openings for the warp-threads said devices being crimped or bent longitudinally throughout their entire lengths to thereby offset portions at opposite sides said openings to provide a substantially straight passage of the warpthreads therethrough, and a stop-motion, and its feeler cooperating with the said devices, substantially as described.
4. In a loom, the combination with a frame. a lay, the heddles having openings for the passage of the warpthreads, said heddles being bent or crimped longitudinally throughout their entire lengths to thereby offset portions at opposite sides of said openings, 01fset to provide substantiallystraight passage of the said threads, mechanism to move said heddles to shed the threads, a warp stop-motion and its feeler cooperating with said heddles, substantially as described.
