IMPROVEMENT IN STRAW-CUTTING KNIVES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 54,446, dated May 1, 1866.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GREY U'rLEY,of Petersburg, Dinwiddie county, State of Virginia, have invented new and useful Improvementsv on Knives for Straw-Gutters 5 and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.

The nature of my invention consists in constructing the face of the knife with vertical and angular grooves, so as to form diagonalshaped teeth beveled on the opposite side.

The construction ofthe blade of the knife having the vertical and angular 'groovesy on its face to form the diagonal-shaped teeth, as herein described, and for the purposes set forth.
