' COMBINED WHAISK-BROOMI'BRACKET AND COAT-HOOK.
' srEcIEIcA'rIo forming part of Letters Patent 110,533,847, dated February 5, 1 895. Application filed March 23,1894. Serial No. 504,768. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J UDSON J. HILTON, of
Murraysville, in the county of Jackson, in the State of West Virginia, have invented new and useful Improvements in a Combined Whisk- Broom Bracket and Coat-Hook, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to combined whisk broom racks, or brackets, and coat hooks, as anew article of manufacture.
My object is to produce, as a new article of manufacture, a' broom bracket and a coat hook, all constructed from a single piece of wire, cheap and durable in its construction and of greatutility; and to that end my invention consists in the several new and novel I features hereinafter described and which are specifically set forth in the claim hereunto annexed.
, It is constructed as follows, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which I have represented a front elevation of my im- 2 5 provements. L
I first take a piece of wire -a and bend .it centrally to form a loop -b, said loop being bent upwardly to form a hook c--. The body or adjacent parts of the wire are then bent laterally or twisted around each other, as shown at d to form a stiff shank to support the hook. The parts are then bent so as to diverge at the point eand again bent at .f-- downwardly forming a loop or eye gand arethence bent to form the lateral hooks or arms -hwhich serve to hold the broom. The ends of the wire are then passed through the eye g so as to form a support for the downwardly and converging arms -z', and the ends of-the wire are then bent or twisted together so as to form an eye k by which the device is hung or otherwise supported.
What I claim is- The herein described bracket and hook constructed. from a single piece of wire by first bending it substantially centrally to form a loop, then bending the loop upwardly to form a hook, thence twisting wires laterally upon each other to forma shank, thence diverging them, thence bending them to form an eye g,thence bending them to form the lateral arms h-, passing the ends of the wire through the eye g for the purpose of supporting the hook and shank, thence twisting the ends together to form eyes for the purpose of supporting the same. e
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 20th day of February, 1894:.
'JUDSON J. HILTON, In presence of GUY WALLACE, 1. M. WALLAoE.
