To all whom it may concern.-

Be itknown that I, MARION JASPER MEEKER, of Puyallup, in the county of Pierce and State of. Washington, have invented a new and Improved Package, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved package. Fig. 2 is a perspective view, partly in section, showing the package closed. Fig. 3 is a transverse section taken on line Fig. 33 in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is aperspective view, showing the device in use as a cot bed or feed box. Fig. 5. is a perspective view, with parts broken away, showing the package closed and fastened. Fig. 6 is a longi- 'tudinal section of a portion of the same. Fig. 7 is a perspective view showing a different way of fastening the package, and Fig. 8 is detail view showing the method of fastening.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

The object of my invention is to provide a simple and effective device which may be used as a sack or package for containing material such as hops, fruit, vegetables, wood, and other materials which are not liable to leak out of small apertures; also to furnish a device which may be transformed into a cot bed, and which, when made of waterproof material, may be used as a portable bath tub.

My invention consists in the combination with a pair of poles forming handles, of a sack of suitable material attached to the poles, the sack being of such width relative to the length of the poles that it may be slipped over the ends of the poles, thereby fastening the mouth of the sack.

The invention also consists in the combina tion with the sack and poles, of trestles for holding the device when used as a bed, box, or bath tub.

It also further consists in the combination with the poles, of looped cords for preventing the poles from spreading when the device is mounted on trestles, all as will be hereinafter more fully described.

The poles A, to which opposite edges of the mouth of the sack B are attached, are preferably made of rectangular section along passing through them and through the material of the sack into the poles. The width of the sack is equal to or greater than the length of the poles, and the portions of the mouth of the sack projecting beyond the attached portions are capable of folding over the ends of the poles when they are placed in contact, as shown in Fig. 2. The poles A are provided with links 0, one being attached to each pole, the links being diagonally arranged with reference to the pole ends, so that by sliding the poles past each other, the ends having no links may be slipped through the links, thereby securely locking the mouth of the bag, as shown in Fig. 2.

To fasten the package more securely, the lower corners of the bag are brought over the ends of the poles, as shown in Figs. 5 and 6, andthe upper edge of the end of the bag is carried over the ends of the poles, as shown.

In the form shown in Fig. 7, the handles are lengthened, and the middleportion of the end .of the bagis provided with an eye a at the top and a hook I) at the bottom, and the middle portion is drawn between the handles, passed over one handle and under the other handle, when the hook I) is made to engage the eye a, as shown in Fig. 7.

When the device is used as a cot bed, or made to serve as a portable bath tub, it is provided with legs G, formed of two pairs of cross bars d, pivoted to each other, and furnished at their upper ends with loops for receiving the rounded ends of the poles A, the poles in this case being prevented from spreading by means of looped cords e slipped over the ends of the poles, as'shown in Fig. 4.

When the device is not in use, the frame-- work may be folded up and the sack B may be wrapped around it, forming a compact package.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1 1.
