The object ofmy invention is to produce a simple, compact Vand useful instrument, combining the elements of a rule, compass and square. Ordinarily, the elements herein combined, are made separately, therefore they are not convenient to carryor handle.

What I claim isv In au instrument of the character` described,
two legs or portions of the ldevice arranged at right angles vto each other, one of said legs being graduated on one side a series of perforat-ions, through the thickness of said legs,
overlapping parts ofthe said clamp being f sharpened and adapted to act as an indicator 6o 'K along the said graduation) perforations fthrough the said clamp for the reception of the pencil and means for holding the said pencil and clamp at any predetermined point substantially as set forth.
