PLOW ATTACHMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 507,475, dated October 24, 1893.
Application filed August 18. 1892. Serial No. 443,449. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GUNNERUs I. BJORNEBY, of Grafton, in the county of Walsh and State of North Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plow Attachments; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. 7
My invention relates to improvements in plow attachments, and its object is to provide a simple and inexpensive means whereby mud and weeds are prevented from clogging or gathering up under the beam of the plow; and my invention consists more particularly in the novel arrangement, construction and combination of parts hereinafter specified andset forth in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of an ordinary plow with my invention attached, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of my device detached from the plow.
A is a plate of steel or iron with a concave surface and adapted to be attached to the plow beam B to form a continuation of the moldboard F. The lower edge of the plate A is curved in order to make a tight joint with the upper edge of the moldboard F. To prevent lateral displacement I have constructed the plow with the projection or shoulder H, I. The attachment is firmly secured to the beam B by means of the bolt 0, plate D and nuts G, one bolt passing on either side of B.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In an attachment for plows, a triangular plate of metal having a projection near its vertex which fits over and overlaps the upper edge of the mold board, and also provided with aflange H extending from the front rearward and overlapping the landside, the upper edge of the plate resting against the under side of the beam and secured in place to the beam by means of bolts passing through the upper part of said plate and embracing opposite sides of the beam, substantially as described.
