G. P. SKINNER. CORNER DUST SHIELD STAMP.
No. 499,857,. Patented Jun e 20, 1893.
UNITED STATES PATENT ()FFICE...
GEORGE FRANCIS SKINNER, OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NE\V YORK.
CORNER DUST-SHIELD STAMP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 499,857, dated June 20, 1893.
Application filed March 24) 1893. Serial No- 467,523- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE FRANCIS'SKIN- NER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Poughkeepsie, in the county of Dutchess and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corner Dust- Shield- Stamps; and Ido hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention. My invention relates to corner dust shield stamps, and it consists in certain improvements bywhich plain edged corner dust shields, may be permanentlystamped in corners, without nails or screws as will more fully appear in the specification and claims.
Heretofore plain edged corner dust shields have been fastened in corners by nails or screws and a serious objection has been that they often become loose.
The object of my invention is to provide a reliable edge fastener for plain edged corner dust shields. I
In the drawings, wherein similar letters refer to similar parts in the two views Figure 1 represents a perspective face view of the stamp. Fig. 2 shows a convex section of the face edge of the stamp.
Letter A shows in both views of the stamp the pointed projections.
My improvement fastens the corner dust shield, by pressing the face of the stamp upon the shield and causes the shield to concave in the corner, while the projecting points grasp the edges of the dust shield, and by striking the handle of the stamp a few taps with the hammer securely fastens the edges of the shield into the corner.
Having thus described my invention and improvement, what I claim therein as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A corner shield stamp or inserting tool consisting of a triangular convexed faced metal block having projecting edges.
2. A corner shield stamp oninserting tool consisting of a triangular convexed faced metal block having projecting toothed edges.
GEORGE FRANCIS SKINNER.
