NTTnn STATES ATBNT @Trina ALICE A. HANSON, OF BALTIMORE, MARYLAND.
CHILDS CARRIAGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 490,114, dated January 17, 1893.
pplieetion filed September 6. 1892. Serial No. 445,171. (No model.)
To au whom zit may concert/1,:
Be it known that I, ALICE A. HANSON, ot Baltimore, Maryland, have invented certain Improvements in ChildrensACarriages, ofl
Figure l is an exterior side View of the irn-` proved carriage, and Fig. 2 a cross section of Fig. l taken on the dotted line x-as.
Referring to the drawings, A is the body of the carriage which in the present case is of basket construction, supported from the bars B, by means of springs a as is usual. To the under side of the barsB are secured the axles C carrying the Wheels D.
E is a plate fastened to the top ot' the bars B and extending transversely of the saine. Screws b are used to fasten the plate E to the bars B; and anges c assist. in preventing the spread of the said bars.
F F are separated lugs on the top of the plate E between which are pivoted, by means of bolts d, the lower ends of the handles G.
H H are plates extending from the outer lugs F, having notches e to receive the pins f on the handles G, and prevent their falling below the position shown. It will be seen that only the notches at one side are occupied hy the pins f, and that the handles may be reversed in position so that the carriage maybe either pulled 0r pushed in its propulsion, or either end used as the forward one.
The handles are connected at the outer ends by the bar I as is usual.
I clailn as my invention:-
In a childs carriage, the bars B, and plate E secured to the said bars, having the separated lugs F and plates H which extend from the said separated lugs and provided with notches e, combined with the handles G pivoted between the said lugs and fitted with pins f adapted to enter the said notches When the handles are placed in either extreme position, substantially as specified.
