Be it known that I, FRANCES II. LANGSON, a citizen of the United States of Ameriea,'re siding at St. Francis, in the county of Milwaukee and State of IViseonsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cabinet-Hooks or shutteihliastenings; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters ot' reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in cabinet-hooks.

The object of the invention is to provide a hook which has a knob formed opposite the hook portion ,with a perforationthrough which the securing-pin passes, so that the hook can be operated by the knob formed integral'therewith, as and for the purposes hereinafter mentioned.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a cabinet-hook constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a view showing the same applied to a pair oi' shutters, and Fig. 3 is a plan view partly in section.

My improved hook is east or made with all parts integral, and a suitable knob is formed through which is a perforation Ct, and the se curing-screw is passed through this knob and serves to hold the hook in place. Beneath the knob portion of the hook A is formed an annular projection l), which keeps the body c of the hook, as well as the hook d., out of contact with the article to which it is attached. The knob is lformed of sufficient height to be easily grasped, and when the device is applied to a shutter, as shown in Fig. 2, the usual knob beneath the ordinaryhook is dispensed with. The ordinary fastening eau be used for engagement with the hook d.

This device may be used for fastening inside window-blinds, for which it is especially designed, or for other purposes for which cabinet-hooks are usually employed.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

As an improved article of manufacture, a cabinet-hook made of a single piece and provided with the usual hook and body portion, a knob formed integral therewith, said knob having a perforation through which passes the securing means, which serves as a pivot, substantially as shown, and for the purpose set forth.
