ADVERTISING-RACK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 421,252, dated February 11, 1890. Application filed July 31, 1889. Serial No. 319,274. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, MARCUS E. DEMAREST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Delaware, in the county of Delaware and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Advertising-Racks; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to display-racks for show-windows or for general application.

The object of the invention is to facilitate the work of the dresser and admit of free access to the goods without climbing into the window either for effecting a sale or dusting the goods.

The improvement consists in the novel fea tures which will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed, and which are shown in 2 5 the annexed drawing, which is a perspective view of a rack embodying my invention, showing its operation by dot-ted lines.

The rack comprises the turn-post A, the radial arms B, the vertical inclined bars C, and

the supports D for the goods. These supports may be shelves or rods, as required, and

are secured to the bars C. When rods are employed, they will be arranged in pairs and passed through suitable openings in the bars C. The post A has pivots at its ends, which 3 5 are let into the tops and the bottom, respectively, of the bow-window E, and which form the journals for the rack to turn about.

Instead of the pivots, any suitable means that will admit of the rack being turned in .0 and out of the window will answer. I

Having thus described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-

Thehereinbefore-described display-rack for 5 show-windows, composed of the post .A, which has pivots at its ends that are adapted to be journaled in the top and bottom of the showwindow, respectively, the arms D radiating from the said post, the bars C, inclining toward each other and toward the post A at the top, and the curved sup1:)orting-rods arranged in pairs and inserted through openings in the bars C, substantially as described, for the purpose specified.
