Be it known that I, JACOB B. HOWELL, a eitizen 0f the United States of America, residing L13 Veteran, in the county 0f Chen1ung and State 0f New York, have invented eertain new and useful Immovements in \Vhiffietrees f01' Spring-Tooth llarrows, 0f whieh the following is a speeification, reference, being had therein to the aecompanying drawings.

My imprvement in whiffierrees f01 springtooth harrows consists in its peculiar C011- struction to enable the whiffletree t0 readily turn withoutbeing brought into conta ct With 01 striking the harrow, and in the peculiar strueture, combination, m1d arrangement 0f the parts, substantially as hereinafter shown and described.

In the accompanying drztwings, Figure 1 is a p1an view. Fig. 2 is a perspeetive 0f 0ne of the loops, und I ig. 3 is a side elevation thereof.

In construeting n1y whiflietree I provide the eurved easting A, at either end thereof, with metallic 1o0ps B, secured thereto by mezms 0f nutted holte C, f01 attaching the whiffletree t0 the harrow. The easting A is also provided at the center 01": the segment with the enlargment 01 knob a, the metallie 100p Z) being secured thereto by means 0f a nutted bolt. The whiflietree consisting 0f the segmentnl easting 01 P12LEG A, having at its ends piv0ted 100ps15 B, theloop b having its ends conneeted t0 a eentra1 enlargement 01 kn0b a 0f the segmental platte A upon its re2u 013 concave side, the doubletree h, having a central loop D, couneeted by a 1ing e t0 the 100p b 0f the segmenta1 plate, and the singletrees Fhaving loops f, conneeted by rings g with loops e at the ends 0f the doubletree h, substantially &S Set forth.
