UNITED, STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN V. BURR, OF TAUN TON, MASSACHUSETTS.
OVEN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 390,200, dated October 2, 1888.
Application filed August 2, 1986. Serial No. 209.777.
- T0 aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN W. BURR, of Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ovens, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a sectional view of an oven embodying my invention. Fig. 3 is a sectional view of an oven embodying my invention, showing the slidepart-ly out of the oven. Fig. 2 is an end view with the door open.
My invention consists in a slide which is adaptedto be moved in and out when theovendoor is closed and opened.
In the drawings, A is an oven, and has on the inner surfaces of its sides a supports a for a slide, B. Slide B is provided with a transverse slot, 1), in which moves a pin, b,connecting arm I) to link b ,whicl1 is connected at its other end to the door A. I have shown the link I) connected at one end to bracket 0. 011 door A by a pin, b, carried by an arm, a, which is raised and lowered by means of a knob, a3. iVhen the oven-door is opened, link
1)" moves with the door, whereby the pin 1/ in slot b is moved along the slot and slide B is drawn outward over its supports. Closing the oven-door pushes slide B inwardly over sup- 30 ports a. If it is desired to open the oven-door (No model.)
without pulling out slide B, the door and the slide are readily disconnected by turning knob (0*, whereby pin If is drawn out of bracket a" and link I). The projection 66' is desirable as a support for link I), and projection to on bracket a serves to direct the end of link b, so that pin 1) is more certain to enter the opening in link b I am aware of Weiners patent, No.224,255, dated February 3, 1880, and WVhites patent, No. 241,901, dated May 24,1881, and disclaim all that is described in them.
Vhat I claim is 1. The combination of the slide B with oven A, its door A, arm I), and link b slide B having a transverse slot, 6, in which niovesa pin, I), connecting the free ends of arm b and link b one end of arm I) being secured to oven A and one end of link b being secured to door A, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. The oven A, its door A, and slide B, in combination with arm I), link I)", and arm a", carrying the pin 11*, connecting the link with the oven-door,substantially as and for the purpose specified.
