DEVICE FOR HEAD-WASHING SHAMPOOING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No, 367,157, dated July 26, 1887.
Application filed December 30, 1886. Serial No. 223,068. (No model.)-
To @ZZ whom it may concern:
4Be it known that I, PETER NoRvoTNIoK, of the cit-y of Bonn, of the county of Rhineland, of the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Devices for Head-Washing and Shampooing; and Ido hereby declare that the following is 'a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, of which the figure rep resents a perspective View of my'device.
My shampooing apparatus consists of a fun nelshaped vessel made of indiarubber- The latter is stretched upon a wire ring, a, and pis drawn at its conical end over the ocoiput of the person to beshampooed, so as to allow no iuid to pass between the vessel and the head. To the vessel b a rubber pipe, c, is attached for the purpose of' permitting the Huid to escape.
The whole device is supported by a stand, d, where the prolongation of the wire ring a is fastened by means of the screw e. The stand d can be raised or lowered by means of the screwf. ,f
By the use of this apparatus the person who is being shampooed can sit straight on a chair, while according to the prevailing system the person must bend down toward the wash-basin as much as possible to prevent fluid from running down his neck, thus having to assume a very disagreeable position.
Having fully described my invention, what I desire to claim and secure by Letters Patent is- Iu ashampooing apparatus, the combination of the funnel-shaped india-rubber vessel b, stretched upon a wire ring, a, adapted to rest lightly yet perfectly water-tight on the head, and having rubber pipe c t0 carry off the shampooing iuids, with the lateral movable and adjustable stand d, haring screws e andf, all for the purpose and substantially as described.
PETER NORVOTNICK.
