Be it known that I, HENRY BECKER, a citi zen of the United States, residing at Buflalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Harness- Saddles; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. v

The object of this invention is to-relieve the ridge of the back of a horse on which the harnesssaddle sets, especially when the back is sore or chafed; and the invention consists in making the saddle open at that point,.as fully hereinafter explained. I
