FOUNTAIN SYRINGE WITH ATTACHMENT FOR ORAL USE This invention relates to syringes, and more particularly a fountain syringe.
It is a principal object of the present invention to provide a fountain syringe which will have various uses in physical hygiene.
Another object of this invention is to provide a fountain syringe which will have quickly detachable attachments, each attachment having a'hollow body portion with a plurality of spaced apart openings from which water or a medical solution may pass.
A further object of this invention is to provide a device of the type described which will have an attachment for rectal and vaginal use while still another attachment will be useful in washing the hair and an oral attachment for providing means for freeing food particles from between the teeth and will serve to wash and rinse all parts of the oral cavity.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a fountain syringe of which some openings will be straight through the body of the attachments while others oppositely opposed to one another will be raked reawvards of the attachment in order to produce a counteraction to each other to make cleansing more complete. The attachment for oral use will be used for forcing medication under pressure in between the teeth in order to remove foreign particles of food that brushing with a toothbrush will not remove.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a fountain syringe that is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIG. I is a side view of the present invention shown in elevation and partly broken away;
FIG. 2 is a horizontal side view of an attachment for use in washing the hair, the device being shown in elevation and partly broken away;
FIG. 3 is a plan view of the attachment for oral use, the device being broken away and showing the interior thereof; and
FIG. 4 is a side view of FIG. 3 shown in elevation.
According to this invention, a fountain syringe is shown to include an elongated flexible tube ll made of rubber or suitable material. A faucet connector 12 having a tapered body 13 and a neck 13 is frictionally received within end 14 of tube 11 and the opposite end 15 frictionally receives the neck 15 of attachment I7. Attachment 17 is used in the rectal or vaginal area.
As will be seen in FIG. I of the drawing, attachment I7 is provided with a plurality of spaced apart and oppositely opposed rearwardly raked openings I8 which cause a counteraction to be produced with each other for a much more efficient spraying of a medicated solution or water. Attachment 1? is also provided with straight frontal openings 19, for forward spraying.
It will be noted that the connector insert 12 is adaptable to a bag or other container as well as to faucets and the like in order that fluid will pass through the flexible tube 11.
Looking now at FIG. 2 of the drawing, one will see an attachment 20 of tubular configuration for use in washing the hair. Attachment 20 is provided with an open end 21 for insertion into end 15 of tube 11 in place of attachment 17. Attachment 20 is also provided with a conical-shaped end wall 22 which is of such construction so as to provide maximum penetration through the hairs to the scalp. A plurality of spaced apart and rearwardly raked openings 23 through attachment 20 allow for a similar counteraction as was described of the attachment 17 shown in FIG. I of the draw- In use, attachment 20 being of an elongated tubular configuration having a conical end wall 22, is especially adaptable for penetration through long hair for better rinsing of the scalp at the hair roots.
It shall further be noted that attachment 20 is lined with a plurality of spaced apart straight openings 23 which are alternately spaced with rearwardly raked openings 24 in order to further aid in complete cleansing of the hair when water is forced through attachment 20.
In FIGS. 3 and 4 of the drawing, there will be seen a hollow rectangular configurated attachment 25 for oral use in freeing food particles from between the teeth and washing and rinsing all portions of the oral cavity. Attachment 25 is provided with forward and straight openings 27 and rearwardly raked openings 28 along the sides in order to produce the aforementioned counteraction for more effective cleansing and loosening of particles from between the teeth in order that they will be removed therefrom. Attachment 25 is also provided with a plurality of paced apart openings 29 through its top and bottom surfaces 30 and 31. The openings 29 of top and bottom surfaces 30 and 3! allow for water to be directed straight upwards and downwards within the oral cavity of the user.
The extending neck 26 of attachment 25 allows for insertion into tube 11 in the same manner as described of attachments 17 and 20.
What I now claim is:
l. A fountain syringe with attachment, comprising in combination, a flexible hose member for directing solutions and water to said attachment, said attachment comprising a removable member detachable from said hose member, said attachment comprising a hollow, rectangular, flat member for oral use in removing food particles from between the teeth and cleaning the oral area, said flat member having a hollow neck at its rear end secured to one end of said flexible hose, said flat hollow member including a pair of flat, spaced apart sidewalls in parallel relation to each other and which are bounded by relatively narrow opposite end walls, a front wall and a rear wall, said rear wall having said hollow neck, said front wall having a plurality of forwardly extending openings therethrough, said flat sidewalls each being provided with a plurality of openings extending perpendicularly therethrough and said end walls each having a plurality of openings extending diagonally therethrough which are rearwardly raked toward their outer ends, thus allowing water under pressure to penetrate the area between the teeth of the user in order to free food particles therebetween and simultaneously washing the oral cavity, and the opposite end of said hose member being removably attachable to a faucet connector.

Claims (1)
