ESPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 355,072, dated December 28, 1886.

Be it known that I, CYRUS R. FUREY, of Logansport, in the county of Cass and State of Indiana, haveinvented certain new and use- 'ful Improvements in Neck-Yoke Centers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it. reference being had to the accompanying drawings,

which form part of this specification.

My invention relates to an improvement in neckyoke centers; and it consists in a clanip made of wrought-iron, and which is provided 1 with two lugs which are either to be cast as a part of the clamp or fastened thereto, the two small rings which support the lower ring, and the bolt by means of which the clamp is secured to the neck-yoke, as will be more fully described hereinafter. I

The object of my invention is to produce a center which is made of wrought-iron, and which can be clamped tightly around the neckyoke, and which is provided with two rings,

so that the large ring can be supported by the two smaller rings.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of a neck-yoke center embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same.

A represents the neck-yoke. B is the clamp, which is made of wrought-iron, and which can be bent into shape so as to conform to the ears, the two rings H, and thelarge ring I, the

yoke, and which is provided with two ears, 0, through which the clamping-bolt D passes. This bolt, passing through the ears, draws the two ends of the clamp together, so as to fasten the clamp upon the yoke. Any desired pressure can be applied to the clamp, so as to make it take a firm hold upon the iron. Either cast as a part of the clamp, or secured thereto in any suitable manner, are the two lugs G, which are provided with holes to receive the two smaller rings H, which support the large one I. These two rings support this ring I, so as to hold it always in a line with the yoke and ready for use.

J I do not limit myself to the exact details of construction here shown, for they may be varied without departing from the spirit of my invention.

Having thus described my invention, I claim 7 The combination of the yoke A, the clamp B, provided with the two ears 0, and the two lugs G, the bolt D, which passes through the lugs G being formed in a line with the yoke, substantially as shown. q In testimony whereofI affix my signature presence of two witnesses.
