Miller, 1312 7th Ave., Honolulu, Hawaii 96816 Filed May 13, 1968, Ser. No. 728,596 Int. Cl. A47d 15/00 US. Cl. 248-106 1 Claim ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A baby bottle holder which eliminates the need of a person holding a bottle while the baby is feeding from the bottle. The holder includes a base, a flex tube, and a holder portion. The flex tube connects the base to the holder portion. The base can be placed under a pillow or can he slept on. The flex tube is soft and pliable enough to be bent by hand, yet firm enough to maintain its bent position and support a baby bottle. The flex tube can be wrapped into a small coil for easy carry in a diaper bag.
The present invention relates to a baby bottle holder which eliminates the need of a person holding a bottle while a baby is feeding from the bottle.
An object of this invention is to provide a baby bottle holder that can be used anywhere there is space for a baby to lie down.
Another object of this invention is to provide a baby bottle holder which is readily portable.
Still another object of this invention is to provide a baby bottle holder which can accommodate any shape and size baby bottle, even the disposable plastic bag type of bottle.
Yet another object of this invention is to provide a baby bottle holder which is simple, durable and effective, yet inexpensive to manufacture.
Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the baby bottle holder.
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of a portion of flex tube and holder portion.
FIG. 3 is an end view of the nipple end of the holder portion and flex tube.
FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken on line 4-4 of FIG. 1 looking in the direction indicated by the arrows, without baby bottle and rubber bands.
FIG. 5 is a sectional view taken on line 55 of FIG. 1 looking in the direction indicated by the arrows.
Before explaining the present invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawing, since the invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced or carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation.
Referring now to the drawing wherein like reference numerals refer to like and corresponding parts throughout the several views, the preferred embodiment of the invention disclosed in FIGS. 1 to 5 inclusive includes a base 1, a flex tube 2, and a holder portion 3. The flex tube 2 connects the base 1 to the holder portion 3.
ice
The way to use the baby nurser is as follows: 1) Place base of baby bottle holder under mattress or pillow at head end of bed. If no bed is used, place base under babys head or upper portion of its body. (2) Place baby bottle in holder portion of baby bottle holder so that nipple protrudes from the nipple end of shell and from collar. (3) Secure baby bottle to baby bottle holder by means of two rubber bands anchored in the notches. (4) Bend flex tube to desired position for feeding baby. (5) Put nipple in babys mouth and make any adjustment necessary to flex tube so that baby can comfortably feed. (6) Remove baby nurser and baby bottle when baby has finished feeding.
My invention can accommodate any shape or size of baby bottle, even the new disposable plastic bag type of bottle. It can be used anywhere there is space for a baby to lie down since the baby itself may be used to support my invention when there is no other support available. Since the base is small and the flex tube can be wrapped into a small coil, my invention is readily portable.
Although but a single embodiment of the invention has been disclosed and described herein, it is obvious that many changes may be made in the size, shape, arrangement, and detail of the various elements of the invention without departing from the scope of the novel concepts of the present invention.
I claim as my invention:
1. A baby nurser comprising a base, a flex tube, and a holder portion which are molded together; the base is flat, thin, and of a size to allow ready portability yet allow a babys head or his upper portion to rest comfortably on it; the flex tube includes a flexible wire with a plastic coating; the holder portion includes a semicyclindrical shell with a semicylindrical collar at its nipple end and notches on its bottom to secure elastic bands; the base, plastic coating of the flex tube, and the References Cited UNITED STATES PATENTS 1,786,459 12/1930 Simons 248104 2,594,545 4/1952 Emens 248104 4 2,909,346 10/1959 Jones 248-106 3,298,648 1/1967 Sepanski 248-103 FOREIGN PATENTS 432,369 3/1948 Italy.
