  • the hinge plate 4 is provided with flanges 8 and 9 on opposite sides thereof as seen in FIGS. 1 and 3.
  • the mount 1 and the hinge plate 4 are secured together in the usual manner by means of a spindle 5.
  • the spindle is surrounded by a spring 6 keeping the mount 1 and the hinge plate 4 in predetermined relative positions.
  • the mount 1 also has a latch 7.
  • An upright Wall 11 of the casing of the dry-shaver, which encloses a hair chamber 12, is provided with two grooves 13 and 14. Intermediate these grooves is a third groove 15 containing a spring 16.
  • the flanges 8 and 9 of the hinge plate 4 can he slid into the grooves 13 and 14 until the lower side of the plate 4 abuts the base 17 of the hair chamber. In this position, the spring 16 engages behind a protuberance 18 of the hinge plate 4, thus locking it. Since the hinge plate 4 is made resilient, any play between this plate and the grooves 13 and 14 is suppressed, so that the position of this blade with respect to the casing of the apparatus is completely determined. In the secured position of the hinge plate 4, the hair chamber 12 can be closed by the mount 1.
  • the wall 11 of the hair chamber has a second spring 21, behind which the latch 7 engages in the closed condition of the cutting head.
  • the spring 21 may be moved clear off the latch 7 by means of a push button 22, whereafter the spring 6 causes the cutting head as a cover of the hair chamber to be tilted open.
  • a dry shaver comprising a shaver casing, a mount, a cutting plate and an associated cutting member in said mount, a plate depending from said mount, means including a spring hinging said plate to said mount whereby said plate is biased to a certain position relative to said mount, spaced groove means on said shaver casing, and a spring located therebetween for removably receiving said plate, said spring engaging one of the surfaces of said plate and spaced flanges on said plate for insertion and removal in said corresponding spaced groove means.
  • a dry shaver as claimed in claim 1 wherein said plate is provided with a protuberance and said spring engages said plate behind said protuberance.
  • a dry shaver comprising a shaver casing, a mount, a cutting plate and an associated cutting member in said mount, a plate depending from said mount, means including a spring hinging said plate to said mount whereby said plate is biased to a certain position relative to said mount, groove means in said shaver casing, spaced flanges on said plate for the insertion and removal thereof in said corresponding groove means, and a spring having one end mounted on said casing and the free end engaging one of the surfaces of said plate when said flanges are located in said groove means.
