1 c aim. (01. 155-447) This invention relates to new and useful improvements in stool construction, and more particularly pertains to a novel means for detachably attaching a stool to a person, so that the stool will at all times be carried in such a position that the person may sit upon the same.

The primary object of this invention is to secure a stool to a person in such a manner that the stool will be carried by the person and in such a position that the person may sit upon the same at any time, so as to leave the persons hands free for other operations, it being noted that such a provision is particularly useful for milkers, auto mechanics, and in the performance of many other tasks which require a person to frequently change his position.

Another important object of this invention is to provide a construction capable of realizing the above object, which may be readily attached and removed from a person, and which includes provision to accommodate persons of varying sizes.

It is still another important object of the present invention to provide such a construction, which will be quite comfortable to the person wearing the same, whether such person is seated upon the same or is standing, and which will not otherwise impair his freedom of movement.

A meritorious feature of the present invention resides in the fact that only a simple adjustment is required to compensate for varying heights of the person wearing the same, and another simple adjustment is provided to allow for the size of the thigh of the person wearing the same.

Another important feature of the present invention resides in the fact that the suspending straps are crossed across both the back and the chest of the wearer so that the suspending straps are not subject to slipping ofi the shoulders of the wearer, and so that it is not necessary to provide any straps or the like about the Waist, so that the wearer has substantially unrestricted freedom of action.

These, together with various ancillary objects and features of the invention which will become apparent as the following description proceeds, are attained by the present invention, a preferred embodiment of which has been illustrated by way of example only in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure l is a perspective view of the invention, showing the same attached to a wearer, with the latter being shown in dotted outline; and

Figure 2 is a sectional detail view taken upon an enlarged scale upon the plane of the section line 2-2 of Figure 1.

Reference is now made accompanying drawings, designate similar parts more specifically to the wherein like numerals the straps l B intersect both in front of and to the rear of the wearer, and the straps H! are secured by suitable fasteners 24 at the position at which they intersect at the fastener 32, while a snap hook 34 is secured to the other suspension strap [8 by means of a loop 36 and a rivet fastener 38.

As in the case of the leg straps I, the suspension straps l8 are provided with buckles 40, whereby the lengths of the straps I8 may be adjusted.

A stool designated generally at 42, is provided, which is of a general T-shape and includes a seat portion 44 and a depending leg 36. As clearly shown in Figure 1, the seat portion 44 is fixedly secured to the rear portions of the straps l8 immediately adjacent the leg straps I 0 by means of suitable fasteners 48, the arrangement being such that the leg 46 extends in perpendicular relation to the portions of the straps l8 to which be fashioned of any suitable flexible material, such as leather, plastics, or fabric.

Since, from the foregoing, the construction and advantage of this stool are readily apparent, further description is believed to be unnecessary.

However, since numerous modifications and equivalents will readily occur to those skilled in the art after a consideration of the foregoing specification and accompanying drawings, it is not intended to limit the invention to the exact embodiment shown amides crilied", but all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to which fall within the scope of the appended claims Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

A device of the character described: comprising a pair of crossed shoulder straps,, a pair of leg encircling straps having their front and rear portions secured to the ends of said shoulder straps, and a stool including an elongated seat HARLAN H. HUTCHINSON.
