This invention relates to marine craft and the propulsion thereof.
This invention has utility when incorporated in a pair of parallel spaced cylindrical floats, more particularly as providing support and mounting for a pedal operated propeller or paddle wheel, the carrying frame for which is in conjunction with steering control.

Fig. 7 is an enlarged View from the line VII-VII, Fig. 3, showing weld-anchored reinforcing pads for weld-connecting an arch frame to -a float.
The fioats are herein shown as comprising two light gage sheet metal cylindrical tubes or shells I, 2, having under-pitched front ends 3 and straight back end closures 4, all normally sealed. However, in the event of seepage, the floats may be provided with removable drain plugs 5. At the aft end, a spacing angle bar 6 is weld-anchored to the crown or tops of the floats I, 2, at the ends 4.
In order adequately to take care of the load strain on the relatively thin gage sheet metal walls of the floats I, 2, at frame or load carrying strut regions, pads 1 have welds 3 (Fig. 7) with additional welds 8 between the pads 'I and float spacer tube 9 at the front region. Tube 9 cooperates with the angle 6 which, as at the junction of the end 4 with the float wall tops, provides substantial mounting against -collapse from down load strain thereon. Additionally from the pads 1 rise a pair of co-planar arch tubes I0, II, constituting a double arched member, with interarc stiffening means or spacers I2, contributing to physical strength in a light weight rigid structure, adapted, not only to bear the load strain, say of two individuals, but also to withstand buffeting 0f Waves and Win-@Strains The forward inter-float arch pair I0, II, I2, has aftward slanting in upward extent a pair of weld-assembled tubes I3 as the forward support for the Vertical carrying frame or chassis at a tube or steering column I4. In the event there be adopted the bicycle-built-for-two type of frame for lady and gentleman, the chassis may have a drop section I5 to a seat post column I6, with a high frame section I'I to a follower or rearwardly parallel seat post column I8. Therefrom there is trailing section I9 to inner arch tube I I of the aft or second arch frame I0', I I, I2.
At the junction of the under portion of the frame section I5 with the column I6 is a bearing 20 providing mounting for a forward sprocket wheel 2l with pedal pair actuation therefor. In addition to pedals 22 at the sprocket wheel 2|, pedals 22 are at a sprocket wheel 23 in the region of the lower portion of the column I8. There isa brace 24 from bearing 25 'for the wheel 23. The brace 24 is to the frame arch II. The
chassis has a lower rigid integral brace 26 between the bearings 20, 25, and thence aft a pair of angle sections 2'I to a bearing 28 and thence to rear anchorage by welding at the spacer 6.
At the steering column I4 there is -an L-top post 29, normally forwardly pitched for adjustable mounting of a handle bar 30. On the column IB a seat 3I is adjustable for the convenience of riding of a passenger or operator of the craft using the pedals'22 -at the wheel 2I. For the aft or normal propulsion operator of the vehicle there is a seat 3 I Connecting the sprocket wheels 2|, 23, is a sprocket chain 32. Fixed with the wheel 23 is a sprocket wheel 33 having a chain 34 therefrom to a sprocket wheel 35 mounted in between the bearings 28 for location between the parallel angle sections 21. Outboard from the bearings 28, are paddle wheels 36, having the blades of one staggered relatively to the blades of the other, in thereby balancing and y distributing the power of propulsion to the water.
The steering column post 29 protrudes downwardly to a universal joint 31 to .a stem 38 extending thru a bearing 40 offset aft from the spacer tube 9 (Fig. 6). As below this bearing 40 and short of below the lower plane of the floats I, 2, there is fixed with the stem 38 a rudder 4I. The stem 38, `above the bearing 40, has fixed therewith and forwardly extending an arm 42 from opposite sides of which extend cables 43. At the mounting pads 'I for the spacer 9 are guide pulleys 44. In proximity to the connections for the spacer 8 with the floats I. 2, are additional guide rollers or pulleys 44. There is thus provided guide means from the arm 42 for one cable 43 each way therefrom to aft along the respective floats I, 2, near the top inner side thereof, which cables 43 are connected with a block 45 centrally of a link bar 46 connecting arms 41 from bearings 48 at the ends of the spacer 6. Integral with the arms 41 are down rods 49 to lower bearings 50. What is claimed and is desired to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. A boat comprising a pair of parallel floats, at least a fore double concentric arched member' connectingcsaid floats and extending:y above the top of said floats, a frame fastened to the top point of said arched member, a forward rudderbelow said fore arched member, a handle bar piyo'ted on a Vertical axle journalled in Said ore member, said axle extending from above said -foiermember directly below to said forward rudder; at least one aft rudder, and means connected between said aft'rudder and said forward rudder/'to'` oscillate simultaneously said forward rudder oppositely to said aftyrudder.
