The present invention relates to a wall fountain syringe suitable for use in the application of liquid treating solutions, such as douche preparations and the like. More specifically, the
invention is concerned with the provision of animproved fountain syringe of the type which'is normally supported upon, or within, a wall or similar supporting structure, the liquid supply container being mounted upon a revolvable panel so that the container, and the various attach ments thereto, may be readily concealed within the wall whenthe device is not in use yet may be easily brought into position ready for use whenever desired.
One of the principal object's ofthe invention is to provide a syringe of the type generally described above wherein' the various attachments to the liquid container, as for example, the flexible hose, may be easily and compactly stored when the device'isnot in use'without the necessity of utilizing clamps or similar holding means and without impairing, at least to any significant extent, the liquid capacity of the device. This represents a particularly advantageous feature of the present invention since,- inthe somewhat' similar prior devices of which I am aware, it has been necessary to not only substantially reduce the size of the liquid container but utilize clamp ing means as well in order to permit the storage of the various container attachmentswhen the device is not in use.

As a closure for the housing, a panel member 6 is provided, the same being revolvably connected to the housing top and bottom end walls 8 so that'either of its faces, ID or I2, may

revolving the panel member, the container may either be concealed within the housing with the face l2 of the panel member flush with the surface defined by the frame 4, as shown by the dotted lines in Figure 2, or withdrawn from the housing into an exposed position ready for use as shown in Figure l. Preferably, as best seen from Figure 2, the diameter of the container closely approximates the width of the panel member thereby insuring a device of maximum liquid capacity.
For mounting container 22 upon the face in, the latter is provided with a pair of spaced downwardly depending fingers 28 adjacent its upper edge and a pair of similarly spaced upwardly extending fingers 30 near its lower edge. In addition, the rear wall 32 of the container is extended downwardly beyond the bottom of the container to form a flange 34 adapted for engagement with the upwardly extending fingers 30. The fingers 28 and 30, are so spaced from one another that, in order to mount the container upon the face Hi, the upper edge of the rear wall 32 of the container must first be slipped under the downwardly depending flngers 28 and the flange 34 thereafter engaged with the upwardly extending fingers 30. With this arrangement, the lower fingers 30 normally rest against the bottom of the container a support for the latter while the upper fingers 2B grip the upper edge of the rear wall of the container so as to prevent the latter from falling forwardly.
When the device is to be placed within the housing in concealed position, the flexible hose 26 and the attachments associated therewith, as for example the nozzle, may be stored within the container in the manner shown in Figure l without detaching the hose from the liquid outlet 24. For this purpose, the container is provided along its entire length with an outwardly opening groove 36 adapted to receive that portion of the hose which extends upwardly along the outer surface of the container when the hose is stored as shown in Figure 1. The lateral dimensions of the groove 36 are such that when the hose is placed therein, it lies within the area covered by a complete swing of the panel member so that jamming of the hose between the container and the housing is avoided. Preferably, groove 36 is vertically disposed, as shown in Figure l, and the liquid outlet tube 22 extends outwardly from. the panel member in direct alignment with the groove so as to avoid the tendency of the hose when stored to snap out of the groove.
From the description given above, it is thought that the advantages of the present syring are clearly apparent. In the first place, it is to be noted that the device is one of maximum fluid capacity yet one in which the container and the various attachments thereto may easily be concealed within the housing, or withdrawn therefrom into position ready for use or, further, separated entirely from the housing for cleaning or like purposes. Furthermore, it will be seen that the invention permits the flexible hose and nozzle to be easily and compactly stored within the container without requiring the use of clamps or other holding means, and without diminishing, at
least to any substantial extent, the liquid capacity of the device. Still further, it will be appreciated that the device is one which is both simple and economical to produce yet highly satisfactory in use.
structurally, the device is preferably made, as far as possible, with moulded plastic parts although it will be readily appreciated that various other materials, such as metal, may also be employed. The device may also be colored, or otherwise decorated, so as to make an attractive household article and various other modifications in the structure of the device may be made without deviating in any way from th present invention as defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
l. A wall fountain syringe comprising a semicylindrical housing having top and bottom end walls and an open front, the forward edges of said housing being flanged to provide a frame about the front normal to said end walls, a panel member including a pair of faces for closing said housing, means revolvably connecting said panel member to said top and bottom end walls whereby either of said faces may be presented outwardly from said housing, said connecting means including a pair of laterally projecting flanges on one of said faces, one of said flanges extend- Y ingalong the upper edge of said face and the other extending along the lower edge thereof, and pivot pin connections joining each of said flanges, midway between the sides of said panel member, to the adjacent end wall, a substantially semi-cylindrical liquid container having an open top and a bottom end wall with a tubular liquid outlet extending downwardly therefrom, means detachably supporting said container on the face having said laterally projecting flanges, said container having a diameter substantially equal to the width of said panel member but the extremities thereof lying within the path covered by said panel member when the latter is rotated whereby the container may be stored within the housing in concealed position, or withdrawn therefrom into position for use, means including a flexible conduit connected to said tubular liquid outlet for withdrawing liquid from said container, and a substantially vertical, outwardly opening groove lying in direct alignment with said tubular outlet and extending the entire length of said container for receiving a portion of said flexible conduit when the latter is stored with said container in concealed position within the housing.
2. A wall fountain syringe as described in claim 1 having means therein for locking said panel member with either face outwardly presented, said means including a pair of downwardly opening sockets in said closure and an upstanding spring-operated ball catch in the housing bottom end wall positioned for engagement with either of said sockets.
