1 Claim. l
This invention relates to a liquid dispenser for bottles.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid dispenser for bottles having an electric light and battery arrangement therein to direct rays of light toward the vessel receiving the liquid from the dispenser whereby the operation can be performed in the dark.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a combined liash light and liquid stopper or dispenser which is of simple construction, inexpensive to manufacture, hasI a minimum number of parts, consumes little space, of pleasing appearance, convenient to use and eiiicient in operation.
For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the bottle with the combined flash light and dispenser stopper embodying the features of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an illustrative View in elevation, Ishowing the bottle tilted in the manner to dispense liquid.
Referring now to the gures, I represents a bottle having the usual neck portion II adapted to receive my combined liash light and liquid dispenser stopper, indicated generally at I2. The stopper portion I3 having cork material I 4 thereon which ts tightly into the neck portion II of the bottle. Extending upwardly through the stopper portion are passages I and I6. Within the cork material I4 is an insulating formation II containing the passages I5 and I6. This formation is integral with a horizontally extending hollow formation I8. The passage I5 extends through this horizontal formation as to provide a. continuation thereof. The passage I 5 connects with a horizontal passage I9 to lead oi liquid through outlet and tapered end 2I of the horizontal portion I8. The passage I6 connects with a passage 22 to provide air for the bottle while the liquid is being dispensed through the passages I5 and I9.
Within the portion I8 is a metal casing 23 adapted to receive a battery 24. This casing has a threaded sleeve portion 25 thereon for receiving a lamp bulb 25 which will be projected toward the outlet 2 I.
The battery 24 has a terminal 2l engageable with the lamp bulb contact 26 at the center thereof. On the outer end of the sleeve 23 there is secured a fitting 3I having a contact element 32 Spring mounted thereon. This contact element is connected to a threaded projection or shank 33 of a bolt 34. A spring 35 surrounds the tting 3| and is held in place by a stop part -36 which bears against the head of the bolt 34. By depressing the bolt 34, the contact terminal 32 will engage the end of the battery whereby to establish a circuit connection through the same, an insulating piece or ring 31 is mixed to the end of the battery to prevent its contact with the fitting so as to establish a circuit.
Over the fitting 3I and the terminal parts there can be disposed a cap 38 of insulating material which can be Screw threaded upon the horizontal portion I8 which will enclose these parts When the bottle is not in use.
vThis combined light and liquid dispenser will enable one, when in a darkened or fully lighted room, to pour liquids from a bottle or container into a glass or other container Without the hazard of spilling or overflow. It can be made to fit almost any size of bottle or jug.
The cap will have been removed and the plunger or terminal pressed to close the electric circuit before the actual pouring `operation of the liquid is effected. Upon release of the terminal plunger, the light will be extinguished.
While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that Such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as dened by the appended claim.
Having thus set forth and disclosed the nature of my invention, what is claimed is:
A combined flashlight and bottle liquid dispenser comprising a stopper adapted to fit the neck of the bottle, a dispensing member comprising a horizontal and a vertical portion, the latter passing through the stopper, and said horizontal portion having a large central chamber open at one end and extending from said open end to the other end, said portions having air and liquid passages, one of the passages extending upwardly through the vertical portion and forwardly through the horizontal portion towards the open end of said center chamber, a metal casing disposed in the center opening of the horizontal portion and having a threaded portion disposed adjacent to the open end of said center chamber and adapted to receive a, lamp bulb, the latter being inserted into said threaded projection and extending outwardly thereof into the open end of said center chamber, said center chamber forming a mouth adjacent its open end and said 3 liquid passage of the horizontal portion as well as said lamp bulb extending into said mouth of said center chamber whereby rays of light will be directed through the mouth and said open end through which the liquid is dispensed, said metal casing being internally threaded at its opposite end, a battery sldable in said casing and having a terminal adapted to engage with the lamp bulb whereby. to aestalblislnan elecjtrie circuit therethrough;` depressible means connected to the threaded end of the metal casing and operable to engage the battery and to slide the same into engagement with the lamp bulbsaidptherpassage being adapted to direct air to the top othefliguid in the bottle extending upwardly through the l5 2,547,450
