Be it knownthat 1, H. CLAY Bascoiir, acid- `zcn of thc United States, residingin the city Aof Troy, in the county ofRensselaer and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stove-Supports,` of which the following is aspecitication, reference bcing had to the accompanying drawings. l

i My `invention relates to improvements in- 1o stove-supports, each having a continuons or 'ring-like horizontal portion with detachable legs; and the general objects of my improvements are, to so forni the legs and horizontall portion that the` former can be quicklygand firmly engaged with andnsecured to the latter. without the aid ot any screw, nut, bolt, wedge,4

or other separate'i part, and in such `manner that when thus engaged thc legs cannot beV moved on or along the 'horizontal portion in 2o any lateral or horizontaldircction whatsoever;

to form the horizontal portion in bars or sections which can be firmly secured together4 and tothe legs by means of said bars or scc-1 tions and legs alone; and tohavceachleg coniposed of a main part and a separable upper` i'r'nt part, which parts can be quickly and firmly secured together and tothe said horizontal portion by means of the latter only.

-I am aware that stove-supports have before been made in whichv horizontal 4.frame-bars were connected together and supported by means of detachable legs; but in each instance bolts or otherequivalent means have been employed for insuring the relative positions of the parts.

What I claim as my invention is- 1. A stove-support coin posed of a horizontal .frame ofseparable bars or plates and a corresponding number of legs which are adapted to and engaged by the ends ot' ,said bars, substantially. as.y described, and the i whole autoinaticallylocl'red ltogetherfby gravity, substantially asandifor .thepurpose specified.

2.
