The present invention relates an arrangement for fastening of skis "to a Wall or the like whennot in use.

The objec of the inven ion i t res de a fastening arrangement, which is simple as well in manufacture as in operation.

A further object is to provide an arrangement of this character, by means of which the tension of the bent portions of the skis can be maintained when the skis are fastened to the wall.

An embodiment of the invention is shown on the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of two skis fastened to a wall by means of the present arrangement.

Figure 2 shows one of two sticks adapted to be placed between the front bent portions of the skis and the wall.

Figure 3 shows a cross section of a block adapted to be placed between the middle portion of the skis and the wall.

Figure 4 shows, in a larger scale, a device adapted to fasten the front end portion of the skis to the wall, and

The fastening arrangement consists of a clamping device and a fastening device, attached to a wall or for instance to cellar ceiling or the like and adapted to carry the skis in a vertical position as shown in Figure 1 or if desired in a horizontal or inclined position.

The fastening device, which is adapted to fasten the rear end portions of the skis, consists of a metal strip or the. like, Figures 6 and 7, which is bent so as to form two rectangular hoops 2 adapted to fit over the rear end portions of the skis and thus clamping them to the wall. Said metal strip is permanently fixed to the wall by means of screws or nails going through hole [6 in the middle portion 3 and'holes I1, I! in the end portions 4 of the strip.

The clamping device for clamping the front end portions of the skis to the wall consists of a metal strip 6 permanently attached to the wall by screws or nails going through holes II in the The end portions 6' of said strip 6 are bent at a right angle, and to said end portions 16' the end portions 5 of clamping arms 5 are 'pivotally attached by means of pivot 1. The arms 5 are brought into clamping position by being swung towards the springs into the position shown to the left in Figure 4, the free ends of the arms then touching the curved portions of the springs. By continued swinging movement of the arms towards the strip 6 the springs will be bent until the free ends of the arms have come into locking engagement with the hooks 9. Provided that the skis beforehand have been placed in the position as indicated by dash-dotted lines in Figure 4, the skis will be fastened to the wall. When the skis are to be loosened, the springs by means of the fingers are forced towards each other, whereby the arms 5 are released and can be swung outwardly from clamping position.

In order to obtain a correct bending tension of the skis when fastened to the wall, according to the invention a block I3 or the like is used adapted to be placed between the middle portion of the skis and the wall. Said block has a transversal breadth different from its height, so that the distance between the middle portion of the skis and the wall and therefore also the bending tension will be dependent on the angular position of the block. The block is provided with two sets of fastening holes l4 and I5 arranged at a right angle to each other for fastening of the block at different angular positions. If desired, the block may have more than four side surfaces for increasing the possibility of adjustment of the bending tension of the skis.

In combination with the devices here described are used two short metal sticks l2 shown in Figures 1 and 2. Said sticks have pointed ends and are adapted to be placed between the bent front end portions of the skis and the wall as shown in Figure I, in order to keep said bent end portions tensioned. The sticks are placed near the ends of said bent portions, and the pointed ends of the sticks will engage the wall and the skis so as to secure the sticks in correct position. Advantageously more sets of sticks of difierent length ought to be at hand corresponding to different shapes of the front bended portions of the skis.

I claim:

1. In an arrangement for fastening a ski to a wall or the like, the combination of a first means for retaining thev rear end portion of the ski 1 against the wall; a second means spaced a predetermined distance from the first means for spacing the intermediate portion of the ski away from the wall; and a clamping means for releasably holding the forward portion of said ski to said wall, including a metal strip secured to the Wall with one end thereof projecting from said Wall; a clamping arm pivoted at one end thereof to the projecting end of said metal strip; and a spring secured to a portion spaced from that end of said metal strip and having a releasable re taining portion for engaging with and retaining;

the other end of said clamping arm in locked position when the same has been pressed 'inwardly'f toward said wall to retain a ski in place against said metal strip. v
