Be it known that I, THOMAS C. KEELER, of Mount Holly, in the county of Burlington and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Childs Chair, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

My invention consists ofa high or table chair for children, having such construction that itis adapted to be converted into a seesaw, wagon, or swing.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings,forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention as it appearswhen arranged for a seesaw or wagon. Fig. 2 is a side elevation as it appears when arranged for a table-chair, and Fig. 3 is a similar view as it appears when arranged for a swing.

In the drawings, a a represent the front legs of the chair, which are hinged to the forward ends of the bottom side plates, 0 e; and b I) represent the rear legs, which are rigidly secured to the said side plates. These side plates are preferably made of metal, and are made to extend rearward past the rear legs a suflicient distance to form the journals for the wheels dd, and are braced to the legs by the braces Z Z. Between the forward ends of these side pieces is fixed the round 0, upon which the springs ff of the forward legs are placed. The forward legs extend upward past the seat of the chair 0, and the arms 9 g ofthe chair are hinged to them by the strong hinges h h, which permit the chair to swing out or to and fro from the legs and cause it to always keep right side up without reference to the position of the legs, whether vertical or horizontal. The front legs are provided with the hooked rods 3' j, and the rear legs are provided with staples or eyes j j, into which the hooked rods are adapted to be placed for holding the legs together, as

shown in Fig.2, for constituting the table-chair.

When the device is to he used for a seesaw the rods 3' j are to be disengaged from the said staples or eyes and the rear legs are to be tipped back upon the floor, as shown in Fig. 1, in which position the front legs serve as springsnpports for the child placed in the chair, and when arranged in this manner the device can be used as a wagon for wheeling the child about, the round It at the upper or outer ends of the rear legs, b b, serving as the handle.

In order to adapt the device for use as a swing, I providethe wheels with the small holes pp, which are adapted to be placed upon any suitable hooks fixed in a doorway or-other convenient place for suspending the device in an inverted position, in which position the chair proper, C, will still be right side up for receiving and holding the child, as in Fig. 3.

It is obvious that the wheels cl d might be dispensed with, as the device could be suspended for a swing by other means, and they are not essential to the use of the device as a seesaw; but they are convenient in moving the child and the chair, and when the device is used as a table-chair they serve as a precaution against all danger of the child tipping itself over, as the wheels, as soon as the for ward legs rise from the floor, will permit the chair to roll back, causing the forward legs to drop to the floor again. Besides, the wheels are some distance in rear of the rear legs, and thus make a very broad base.

It will be understood that it is not essential that the side plates, 6 e, be flat, as they can be made round, oval, or in any other ornamental seat 0, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
