This invention relates to a show-case for makeup sticks and particularly lip sticks.
This case comprises two half shells, linked one to the other by means of hinges in each of which the lip-sticks are arranged on one single tier, so that all the sticks can be seen when the case is open and showed flat.
The main feature of this case is that one of the elements of the inner set is made up of a shade indicating device permitting selection amongst the tints of the various sticks exhibited.
In accordance with a preferred embodiment, this case has the same layout as that of a cigarette case, cigarettes being represented by lipsticks which have been suitably decorated on the outside for this purpose.
Further objects and advantages of my invention will be apparent from the description and claims.
In the drawing, in which an embodiment of my invention is illustrated- Figure 1 is a plan view of the open case.
Figure 2 is a sectional view on line A-A of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the shadeselector device.
I and 2 are both half-shells of the case, linked together by hinges; 3, 4 are the different lip-stick tubes held apart by means of a rack 5.
The shade-selector device 6 is made up of a solid or hollow body, cylindrical or prismatic, in one or several parts and showing on its side surface, or different side surfaces, the shades corresponding to the various tints of lip-sticks exhibited. The case is ruched 1 inside to hold the device.
Body 6 is fitted at either end with rods 8 so that it can be turned between the fingers.
It is used opposite a looking glass, holding it in front of the lips. Then, by rotation, the various shades are shown until the suitable tint is chosen.
In the embodiment shown body 6 is tubular,
. in two parts, corresponding to eight selective tints.
Further modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art and it is desired, therefore, that the invention be limited only by the prior art and the scope of the appended claims.
I claim:
1. A show-case for make up and lip-sticks comprising at least one half-shell, a recess in the latter for holding a tier of lip-sticks, means for securing the lip-sticks in this recess, a second recess, a shade-indicator having a body divided into coloured parts corresponding to the various shades of lip-sticks and prehension fittings located in this second recess.
2. Show-case for lip-sticks comprising two half-shells, a hinged link between each other so that they can be opened and'closed in the manner of a box, a recess suitably dimensioned in each half-shell, a shade-indicator located in these recesses, this indicator comprising a body with coloured sections corresponding to the tints of the various lip-sticks and prehension fittings.
3. A case for lip-sticks according to claim 2, wherein the shade -indicator is a cylinder having longitudinal strips of various tints corresponding to those of the lip-sticks themselves.
