My invention relates to the disposition and handling of tablets formed of medicated material and contoured in the nature of small disks, squares and the like, and has among its objects and advantages the provision of a sanitary con- .tainer for the tablets wherein novel means are incorporated to the end that one tablet at a time may be easily removed from the container.

In the embodiment of the invention selected for illustration, Figures 1 and 2 illustrate a container or package ll] of such size as to be conveniently carried in a pocket on the person. This container comprises a relatively thick cardboard body 12 having perforations or cells M for loose- 1y receiving tablets 16. To one face of the body I2 is adhesively secured a retaining sheet l8, as of thin paper, which sheet is deformed to provide depressions 20 for partly housing the tablets. These depressions project outwardly from the body l2 and are respectively aligned with the perforations I4.

To the other face of the body I2 is adhesively secured a second sheet 22, which may comprise paper, and which is provided with perforations 24 closely spaced in circular arrangement to provide easily detached disks breakout portion 25 overlying the perforations Hi to constitute barriers for the tablets Hi. The disks 25 are of larger diameter than the perforations M to provide sanitary covers for the perforations l4, and the disks 25 are unglued with respect to the body l2 so as to tear easily from the sheet 22. Thus the tablets [6 lie loosely in the perforations I l, but are restrained by the sheet 22 so as to be held in the body [2,

A cover 21 is provided for the skeleton structure comprising the body I2 and the two sheets l8 and 22. This cover is folded back upon itself and attached to the skeleton structure by a staple 26, with the staple located slightly inwardly of one end of the cover so that this end may serve as a tab 28 underneath which the other end of the cover may be inserted. This cover is of such size as to fold about the skeleton structure to enclose the latter inside the cover.

To remove a tablet, the cover 2'! is opened, as by pulling its free end from underneath the tab 28, and the bulge defining one of the recesses 20' is pressed inwardly of the respective perforation M, which causes the tablet to tear one of the disks from the sheet 22 and drop from the perforation l4.

The container or package may be made up in different sizes. This is also true of the perforations [4, which may be made in different sizes and shapes in accordance with the specific type of tablet to be loaded in the container.

Without further elaboration, the foregoing will so fully explain my invention, that others may, by applying current knowledge readily adapt the same for use under various conditions of service.

I claim:

1. A tablet container and dispenser comprising a body formed with spaced, circular tablet receiving openings therethrough, tablets in the openings and said tablets being of greater thickness than the body, a cover sheet on the body having outwardly depressed sections therethrough to accommodate the protruding portions of the tablets, a second cover sheet on the body enclosing the tablets in the openings and the said second cover sheet having circular closures for the openings, and a circular series of frangible connections between the second cover sheet and each of the closures, the radius of said circular series of frangible connections being of greater length than and concentric with the circular openings whereby the tablets may be dispensed by pressure upon the protruding portion to break the frangible connections.

A tablet dispenser and container comprising a body formed with spaced, circular tablet receiving openings therethrough, tablets in the openings and said tablets being of greater thickness than the body, a cover sheet on the body having outwardly depressed sections therethrough to accommodate the protruding portions of the tablets, a second cover sheet on the body en'- closing the tablets in the openings and said second cover sheet having circular closures for the openings of greater diameter than the diameter of the openings and a circular series of frangible connections between each closure and the second REFERENCES CITED The following references are of record in the file of this patent:
