forming the subject-matter of my co-pending United States patent application Serial No.
457,270, filed September 4, 1942, and it has for its object to provide an improvement therein consisting in eliminating the packing ring fltted within the container neck and holding in position the disc provided with a central hole and a cylindrical portion which servesas a seat for the solid valve of smaller diameter than said disc and rests freely on said disc, said elimination being due to the present difliculty in obtaining a packing material like cork, which although satisfying the conditions required for making a; tight closure, when in permanent contact with a high quality liquid, such as liquor, also tends to impurify it. e
The improvement forming the subject-matter of this invention further consists in substituting for the disc provided with a central hole and a cylindrical portionadevice made of plastic material in the shape of a cylindrical cup having a central hole at its bottom portion and an upper horizontal annular flange adapted to seat through an intermediate packing washer on the upper edge of the container neck, the bottom portion of the cup serving as a seat for the loose disc valve, whereby a more simple closure is provided which is also sanitary by reason of the fact that the liquid is not in direct contact with any packing materialcapable of being crumbled or corrupted by the action of liquid humidity.
Fig. 7 is a similar section to that of Fig. 1, showing the container neck in the liquid discharge position.
In the drawing, I indicates a bottle neck which has adjusted at its mouth portion a device of plastic material in the shape of a cylindrical cup 2 having a central hole 3 at its bottom and a horizontal annular flange 4 at its upper edge by means of which and the interposition of a pack ing washer 5 it rests on the upper edge of the container I. The inner space of cup 2 serves as a lodge for a freelymovabie valve consisting of a solid disc 6 of a diameter somewhat smaller than the inner diameter of the cup cylindrical body to always permit the flow of liquid thereabout in any inclined position of the bottle.
Outside the bottle neck i is adjusted on a shouldered peripheral portion 1 projecting therefrom, a cover 8 made of glass or any other plastic material, which has an upper section 8" of 9 or the cover and the annular flange 4 of cup 2.

The section 8 of the cover has at its outer surface a thread IE to threadedly receive a, threaded cap l9 preferably made of metal and which fits on the upper edge of the section B' of the cover through an intermediate disc 20 of a compressible material, such as cork, to prevent leaking of the liquid in the sealed position of the cap l9.
The cover 8 is inviolably secured on the bottle neck I by means of an annular layer of a molten material 2| which is inserted in the space formed between the recessed portion 1 of the bottle neck beneath the shouldered peripheral portion I o! the bottle and the lower portion of the cover 8. The molten material may be in the nature of a, sealing-Wax or the like.
The operation of this closure is exactly as the operation of the closure forming the subjectmatter of my co-pending United States patent application Serial'No. 457,270, only that the present closure has the advantage that a packing ring being not provided for holding'the seat for the freely movable valve within the bottle neck and the cup device serving as a seat for the freely movable valve being made of a plastic material which is not capable of being crumbled or corrupted by the humidity action of the liquid as this is discharged, the liquid will never be contaminated, but it will always keep clean.
What I claim is:
A non-refillable closure for a bottle comprising a cap having a skirt portion surrounding the neck of the bottle, a. top portion of reduced diameter, a shoulder overlying the mouth of the bottle between the skirt portion and top portion, a flanged cup having an opening in the bottom, a perforated disc having teats directed towards the interior of the cup, the disc and flange of the cup being seated between the shoulder of the cap and the mouth of the bottle in circumferential engagement with the skirt, means for looking the disc against rotation relatively to the shoulder, a fiat disc Valve loosely slidable on the bottom of the cup and adapted to cover the opening, and a second perforated fiat disc integral with the top portion of the cap, the perforations of said last named disc being out of alinement with those of the first named disc, said cap, discs, cup and valve forming a selfcontained structure suitable for application to the neck of the bottle by the skirt portion of the cap.
