This invention relates to a cosmetic carrier designed more particularly to receive a, stick of mascara pigment, a brush for applying the same and a mirror.

The carrier consists of two separable parts, a. pigment, brush. and mirror holder and a casing therefor adapted to slide over the holder from one end thereof.

One suitable form of construction is illustrated, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, wherein:

Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the casing;

Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the pigment, etc. holder; and

Fig. 3 is a section on the line 33 of Fig. 2.

'As showmthe casing 5 is cylindrical in form and closed at one end. Theholder B is of H- shaped cross-section and its peripheral parts are curved so as to fit the bore of the casing. At one end the holder has a disc-like end portion I of substantially the same diameter as the body of the casing. The purpose of giving the holder an H-shaped cross-section is to provide two longitudinal recesses 8 and ID on opposite sides of the holder. One of these recesses, 8, receives the stick of mascara 9 and the other, H], the brush 1 l for applying the same. To aid in keeping the mascara and brush in their respective recesses the outer parts of the portions forming the sides of the H are inclined towards each other. The recesses are, therefore, of dovetail-type form. The device is provided also with a recess 12, the

sides of which are inclined towards each other, adapted to receive a mirror l3. It will be noted that the generally circular form of the holder aids in making these recesses of dovetail-type form without making the sides thereof unduly thick and heavy.

Another dovetail-type recess 92 isprovided along one side of the carrier to receive a mirror it.

What I claim is:

1. A cosmetic carrier comprising an elongated member of H-cross-se'ction having a disc-like terminal portion at one end and a casing closed at one end slidable over said member from the end thereof opposite said terminal portion.

2. A cosmetic carrier as in claim 1 in which one outer side of one of the portions forming the sides of the H is formed with a recess with bevelled edges to receive a mirror.

3. A cosmetic carrier as in claim 1 in which the outer parts of the portions forming the sides of the H are inclined toward each other to aid in retaining articles inserted between said portions.

4; A cosmetic carrier comprising an elongated casing closed at one end and open at the other and a brush and pigment holder slidably mounted in said casing, said holder being of H-shaped cross-section with the facing walls of the sidei portions of the H inclined towards each other to 30 form dovetail-type longitudinal recesses to receive the brush and pigment. v
