The present invention is related to a pantee, one of its principal objects being to provide a pantee for feminine wear consisting of a section of an elastic corset covering the lateral parts of the torso between the waist and its lower end, said section terminating in two inferior zones which are adapted to cover the upper part of the thighs, said zones being of tubular section and having their respective longitudinal sides corresponding to the inner surface of the thighs separated from one another, thus allowing an absolute freedom of movement to the thighs. This arrangement eliminates the disadvantages of ordinary corsets, the tubular zones of which are joined at their ends concurrent with the pelvis, making difficult the unrestrained articular movement of the thighs.

Another feature of this invention is to provide a pantee, the elastic section of which has attached thereto two pieces of elastic or nonelastic textile material according to the more or less degree of adjustment which is desired to impart to the body, said pieces being applied one at the front and one at the back; the one at the front serving to cover the abdominal region of the torso between the waist and the pubes, affording an absolute free movement for the legs and the one at the back, serving to cover the mean inferior dorsal region between the waist and the coccyx.

Another feature of this invention is to provide a pantee having a supplementary piece of nonelastic textile material which is adapted to be removably joined to the inferior edges of the front and back pieces attached to the elastic secscribed in detail in the present description made with reference to the accompanying which Fig. 1 is an elevation view of the pantee showdrawing, in

With reference to the illustrative drawing, 5 perfect adjustment of the pantee in the waist,-

the pantee consists of an elastic section constituted by the lateral zones l designated to cover the lateral sides of the torso in the part thereof comprised between the waist and the lower end of the same. Each of the lateral zones l terminates in a lower tubular zone 2 designated to cover the upper part of the thighs. These tubular zones 2 are separated from one another at the side 3 in correspondence with the inner surface of the thighs and also at the superior opening of the same concerning the elements 6 and II which will be described later, granting thereby the free movement of the lower limbs. The superior opening of the tubular zones 2 has an irregular outline, showing at the front part an ascending slanting edge with a slightcurvature 4 (Figs. 1, 2, 4 and 5) while at the rear part, its edge is slightly horizontal and has a little descending curvature 5 (Figs. 14 and 2-5) The front part constituted by the pieces 6 made of elastic or non-elastic textile materialin this particular case represented as non-elastic-is joined by a lateral and a lower seam to the front part of the lateral zones I. This piece 6 is adapted for covering the abdominal region and in its development presents an irregular curve outline,

while its inferior edge presents a semi-circular re-entrant outline,- 'l, leaving the pubes uncovered. Said piece 6 is not sewn in its left longitudinal edge for a length from about 8 to 10 inches but its connection to the zone I is performed by a suitable fastener, as for example by a zip or rack type fastener 8, with a runnin latch 9, according to Figs. 1 and 4. v

Said piece 6 being attached to the front parts of the lateral zones l embraces said zones extending itself in two narrower inferior portions 6 which are also joined by seams, and form as a who-1e a unity which permits a free and expanding movement of the same in all directions, to the fore, to the sides and to the back, affording a complete liberty of movement to the lower limbs of the body and, at the same time, on re-taking the normal position, the piece 6 and the narrower inferior portions Ii recover their natural and uniform tenseness because of the semi-circular configuration of the re-entrant outline I.

The front part of the pantee has a pair of elastic metallic rods l0 intercalated in the upper end of the piece 6, having a zig-zag shape, their action being the same as that of the conventional stays. That means that they prevent the rolling or curling of the material by keeping it perfectly tense at the upper end of piece 6 in order to effect a without forming creases which are bound to hurt the skin at the waist.

Said fabric II is made of a plurality of longitudinal portions reciprocally Joined to one another at their concurrent edges by means of stitches, forming by those edges 8. correct fitting line in adjusting relation with the torso and, in the part corresponding to the upper edge, there are intercalated elastic metallic rods in zig-zag shape, l2, analogous to the rods Ill in the front part, and serving the same purposes as the latter.

Said piece 6 is provided at the central part of its re-entrant semi-circular outline l with the plurality of buttons, l3, and piece II is provided at the central part of its lower edge with another series of buttons l4. Buttons l3 and I4 serve to fasten by buttoning the supplementary piece l5 which is shown in Fig. 3 having an irregular configuration and showing an inferior portion I5 having a narrower shape in order to conform to the inner space between the thighs. This supplementary piece l5 of non-elastic textile material is provided at its opposed edges with some buttonholes l6 and IT. The buttonholes l6 are designated to fasten the wider edge of the piece IE to the lower edge 'I of piece 6, by buttoning the buttons l3, and the buttonholes I! serve to button up the narrower edge of said piece l5 to the buttons H of piece ll, thus presenting the pantee when is fitted the ensemble shown in Fig. 4 which corresponds to the front part; in this figure, as an alternative, instead of buttonholes, there are elastic projecting loops l6, and the general aspect shown in Fig. 5, which corresponds to the rear part of the ensemble. By that arrangement the supplementary piece l5, through its narrower portion I5, covers the part of the body comprised between the pubes and the coccyx.

The construction of the pantee with its lateral zones l and lower tubular parts 2 with elastic textile material, and the inclusion of pieces of non-elastic material 6 and H entering in a bigger proportion than the elastic material, make it possible to obtain a fitting of this wearing apparel to the body which can be carried to a great degree of eiliciency whereby these garments are adapted even for corpulent persons, for whom it is not feasible to wear a pantee known by the name of trunk-hose, inasmuch as the soft fabric'of the latter only acts as a means of support without holding in place the I anatomic parts, whereas the apparel of my invention not only gently girds the anatomic parts but also imparts to the torso a modelling effect, as such is the double function performed by the pantee described in this present description.

Although there has been shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that some modifications may be introduced to the same without departing thereby from the scope of the invention, either in respect to the materials described or indicated or to the different relative proportions of the same, whichare bound to be varied at will in accordance with the persons for whom this wearing apparel is made, in order to obtain a perfect modelling and delineation of the thighs in a perfect freedom of movement, avoiding friction between the same and consequently avoiding rubbing sores which are in themselves very annoying in summer weather and, finally, providing a fitted apparel which is easily adaptable to the figure and of a very practical wear such as yet has not been availabl in similar garments. Therefore what has been described should not be interpreted as limltative but as enunciative, except what is claimed in the following clauses.

Iclaim:

1; In a garment of the character described, the combination of a pair of side sections having front and rear longitudinal edges extending from the upper edge of the sections to points above the lower edges thereof, a pair of tubular sections adapted to encase the thighs over a substantial length and extending from the end points of the longitudinal edges toward the medial plane of the garment, the upper and lower edges of the tubular thigh sections confining openings which permit the wearer to step into these tubular sections, a front section between and connected to the front longitudinal edges of the lateral sections and overlapping a substantial area of the tubular sections to which they are secured by seams along reentrant edges of the overlapping portion, a rear section between and connected to the rear longitudinal sections and overlapping the tubular'sections to which they are secured by seams along angular edges of the overlapping portion, the upper edges of the lateral sections being free of attachment to said front and rear sections at the overlapping portions, and a crotch-band attachable to the central portions at the lower edges of the front and rear sections between the tubular sections.

2. In a garment of the character described, the combination of a pair of side sections having front and rear longitudinal edges extending from the upper edge of the sections to points above the lower edges thereof, a pair of tubular sections adapted to encase the thighs over a substantial length and extending from the end points of the longitudinal edges towards the medial plane of the garment, the upper and lower edges of the tubular thigh sections confining openings which permit the wearer to step into these tubular sections, the upper edge of each tubular section extending from points of the front and rear longitudinal edges of the pertaining side sections which have unequal spacing from the top edge of the section, a front section between and connected to the front longitudinal edges of the lateral sections and overlapping a substantial area of the tubular sections to which they are secured by seams along reentrant edges of the overlapping portion, a rear section between and connected to the rear longitudinal sections and overlapping the tubular sections to which they are secured by seams along angular edges of the overlapping portion, the upper edges of the lateral sections being free of attachment to said front and rear sections at the overlapping portions, and a crotch-band attachable to the central portions at the lower edges of the front and rear sections between the tubular sections.

the garment, the upper and lower edges of the tubular thigh sections confining openings which permit the wearer to step into these tubular sections, the upper edge of each tubular section extending from a point of the front longitudinal edge which is closer to the upper edge of the pertaining side section than the point at which the upper edge of the tubular section angularly joins the rear longitudinal edge of the side section, whereby the upper opening of the tubular section occupies a. rearwardly and medially inclined plane, a front section between and connected to the front longitudinal edges of the lateral sections and overlapping a substantial area of the tubular sections to which they are secured by seams along reentrant edges of the overlapping portion, a rear section between and connected to the rear longitudinal sections and overlapping the tubular sections to which they are secured by seams along angular edges of the overlapping portion, the upper edges of the lateral sections being free of attachment to said front and rear sections at the overlapping portions, and a crotchband attachable to the central portions at the lower edges of the front and rear sections between the tubular sections.

4 In a garment of the character described, the combination of a pair of side sections of elastic fabric having front and rear longitudinal edges extending from the upper edge of the section to points above the lower edge, the portion of the side sections between said points and the lower edge merging each into a tubular section integral therewith and extending towards the medial plane of the garment, the edge of the upper opening of the tubular section extending from the end point of the front longitudinal edge to the end point of the rear longitudinal edge with the plane of said opening inclined rearwardly and medially, a he edge of the upper opening between said points being free from attachments, the edge of the lower opening of the tubular section forming a continuation of the lower edge of the side section, a front section of non-elastic material connected at its longitudinal edges to the front longitudinal edges of the side sections, and having downward extensions overlapping frontal area portions of the tubular sections to which they are secured along their edges intersecting the top edge of the tubular section which is free from attachment thereto, the medial portion of the lower edge of the front section being arcuately out out to a height above the medial portions of the tubular section, a rear section assembled of panels of elastic and of non-elastic material, therear section having its longitudinal edges connected to the rear longitudinal edges of the side sections and extending below the upper edges of the tubular sections and overlapping the tubular sections to which it is secured along the edges of the overlap portions, the top edge of the tubular section being free from attachment thereto, and .a crotch strap attachable to the medial arcuately cut out portion of the lower edge of the front section and the medial portion of the lower edge of the rear section.
