SOAP FOLDER AND SAVER Filed Sept. 5, 1942 INVENTOR. DARWIN M. WOLF ATTORNEY Patented July 27, 1943 I My invention relates to a holder for cakes of soap under use and also saves the soap by preventing waste and the objects of my invention are:
First, to provide a soapholder of this class which holds the cake ofsoap in such a position that it quickly dries and the water-drains off the same;
Second, to provide a soap holder of this class that is so shaped and arranged that air can contact the soap on all sides, therefore providing for quick drying of the cake of soap on all sides;
shown and 2a, straight front sides lb and 2b and Third, to provide a soap holder of this class in I which the soap cake is easily and readily 'posi- 1 tioned in the proper position for quick drying;
Fourth, to provide a soap holder of this class which maintains the cake of soap in its proper angular position for quick drying;
Fifth, to provide a soap holder of this class that is so constructed and arranged that the water from the soap drains clear away from the cake of soap; a
Sixth, to provide a soap holder of this class which may be made of a single piece of material;
Seventh, to provide a soap holder of this class which is so shaped and arranged that it forms a quick drying support for the bar of soap as it changes its shape, form and size by usage; and
Eighth, to provide a soap holder of this class which is very simple and economical of construction, efiicient in its action and which will not readily deteriorate or get out of order.
With these and other objects in'view as will appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and. arrangement of parts and portions as will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the characters of reference thereon which'form a part of the application in which:
Figure 1 is a side elevational view of my soap holder and saver showing a'cake of soap positioned thereon by dash lines; Fig. 2 is a front elevational view thereof; Fig. 3 is an isometric view thereof and Fig. 4 is a side elevational view of the holder with a slightly modified form of support for the soap holder.
Similar characters of reference refer to simistraight rear sides I0 and 20, which integrally connect'with the 'back3 so that the members. l
and'2 are held in certain spaced relation to each" other. Theupperisides of the members I and 2; are provided with low intermediate portions Id and 2d; then with a plurality of; round pointed step-like portions leand 2e leading upwardly from theportion id to the front upper side. From these intermediate portions lo and extending backwardly'and upwardly are a' plura'lity' of spaced pointed portions if and 2 it being noted that these back portions If and 21 extend upwardly on a greater angle because the back side I0 is considerably higher than the front side lb so that when the cake of soap rests with the narrower side on the points le 2e,the long side rests on-the points if 2 on an angle,.as shown best in Fig. 1.0f the'drawing so that water. will quickly drain off the cake over its entire area, The sides.-
of the cake of soap will be exposed to the air.
In the form of holder shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the holder is positioned onany flat surface for, I
supporting the cake of soap.
In the modification shown in Fig. 4 of the draw- I ing, the structure is the same as disclosed in Figs.
1, 2 and 3 except that the upper ends of each side member I and 2 is provided with an extended portion 4 which extends backwardly some distance and then downwardly with an extended portion 5, thus providing hooks for supporting the holder on 1 the upper side of a washtub or any vertical supv 3 port.
of parts and portions and a certain modification thereof, I do not wish to be limitedto this par ticular 3 construction, combination and arrange ment,,nor to themodification, but desire to in- 1 asset forth in the appended claims.
lar parts and portions throughout the several the two. side members at their back edges, as
I bers, each provided with. a relatively low p'or- Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secureby Letters Patent is :I
1. In a soap holder and saver of the class deg scribed, the combination of two spaced side meme tion intermediateits endsand with: upwardly extending angular portions extendingtherefrom best in Figs. 2 and 3 of the. drawing. These side members and back may bemade of a relatively thin plate of any kind of material-v metal, plastic or the like, and the side members,
are preferably provided with fiat lower sides Ia Though I have shown and described a particu,- lar construction, combination .and arrangement and means connected to one end of each side member for connecting said members in their spaced relation to each other.
2. In a soap holder and saver of the class described, the combination of two spaced side mem- 'bers each provided with a relatively low portion intermediate its ends'and with upwardly extending angular portions extending therefrom and means connected to one end of each side member for connecting said members in; their. spaced relation -to each other, said annular extending portions provided with a plurality of pointed portions with rounded extremity.
w 3. In a soap holder and saver of the class de scribed,- the combination of a box-lik-rnembr provided with an open front, the upper edges of the sides provided with forwardly and backward rounded extremity pointedrportions thereon.
4. In a soap holder'andsaver of the class do-" 20 I 1y upwardly inclined upper edges providedwith scribed, the combination of a box-like member provided with an openfi ont, the upper edges of the sides provided with forwardly and backwardly upwardly inclined upper edges provided with rounded extremity pointed portions thereon, the
rearward portions extending higher and at a greater angle than the forwardly extending portions.
5. ma soap holder and saver of the class described the. combination of a box-like member provided with an open front fthe upper edges of the sides provided with forwardly and backward- 1 1y upwardly inclined upper edges provided with rounded extremity pointed portions thereon, the 15-.
rearward-portions extending higher and at a ;-greater ang le than the forwardly extending portions and 'means extending backwardly and 'downwardly'fronr-the upper side of each of saids ides forsupporting said holder and saver.
