ERASTUS M. KINNE, OFCUBA, NEW YORK COCKEYE'.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 227,904, dated May 25, 1880.

' Application filed January 15, 1879.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, 'ERASTUS M. KINNE, of Cuba, in the county of Allegany and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gockeyes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification.

My invention relates to an improvement in cockeyes and it consists in forming a hook upon one side of the cockeye, so that it can be readily attached to the harness when not fastened to the single-tree, and thus dispense with trace-carriers, as will be more fully described hereinafter.

The accompanying drawings represent my invention. Figure 1 represents it detached from the harness. Fig. 2 represents it attached to the harness.

Having thus described my invention, I claim- A cookeye having a hook, 0, formed on it,

substantially as shown.
