My invention relates to new and improved tube holders and more particularly to tube holders for collapsible or pliable tubes.
One of the principal objects of my invention 5 is to provide a tube holder wherein a tube is maintained in a manner to protect the same from accidental applied pressures, thereby preventing damage to ,the tube and resultant loss of the contents.
Another object of my invention is to provide a device of the above described character equipped with means operable for permitting ready access to the contents of the tube.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the above described character which is adapted to receive tubes of various sizes land shapes together with means for eiectively sealing the contents within the tube when not in use.
A still further object of my invention is to provide a device of the above described character which is simple in construction, durable in use, efficient in operation and economical in manufacture.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description, appended claims and annexed drawing.

In practicing my invention I provide a tube holder comprising front and rear sections 5 and E respectively hinged together at the lower ends thereof by means of pivot members 'I secured through the side walls of the front and rear sections. The side walls of the rear section on the interior faces thereof have riveted thereto oppositely disposed latches 8, the outer ends of which extend beyond the outer faces of the side walls and are fashioned with offset sections 9 for engagement within apertures I0 in the side walls of the front section. Adjacent the outer faces,
the side walls of the rear section are formed with apertures which receive therethrough pins II secured on the latches whereby said latches are disengaged from within the apertures or keepers lil, the latches being constructed of a resilient material and normally extending outwardly of the side walls.
From the foregoing it will be apparent that when the front section is moved to closed position relative to the rear section, the offset sections 9 of the latches will engage within the keepers or latches I!) and maintain the sections in closed position and by exerting pressure on the pins II towards the inside of the sections the offset sections 9 will be released from the keepers and permit the sections to be open relative to each other.
Rotatably mounted within the top wall I2 of the rear section is an interiorly threaded sleeve I3 adapted to engage the threads I4 of the neck of a collapsible tube I5 and support the same within the holder. Secured within the rear section 6 is a vertically extending partition or rest I6 of a configuration to embrace the outer face of the tube I5 and thereby serve to position the tube centrally within the holder. Secured about the inner ends of the pivot members I are springs I1 having ends engaging the rear section and outer section respectively whereby to urge the front section to open position when the latches have been released from the keepers I0, thereby positioning the sections in open position as clearly illustrated in Figure 4. The upper end of the front section extends above the upper wall I2 ofthe rear section and is fashioned with an extension I8 overlying the sleeve I3. Secured to the lower face of the extension I8 adjacent the outer end thereof is a resilient closure member I9 serving to engage the upper face of the sleeve and seal the contents of the tube therewithin when the sections are in closed position, thereby preventing leakage or escape of any of the contents from the tube. When the sections are operated to open position, the extended section being formed integral with the front section moves therewith and permits the contents of the tube to be exuded through the sleeve I3 in the usual manner.
From the foregoing it will be apparent that my invention provides a simple and efficient means for protecting collapsible tubes and that the rear section may be easily secured to a wall or other support if desired as well as being adapted to be carried in traveling bags or the like.
What I claim is:
1. A device of the character described, com.- prising, a tube holder having front and rear sections hinged together adjacent the lower ends thereof, a sleeve having open ends rotatably mounted in the upper wall of said rear section and provided with threads adapted to engage the threaded neck of a collapsible tube to support said tube within said holder, latches and keepers coacting together to secure said sections in closed condition, and a resilient closure member oarried by said front section for engagement over said sleeve whereby to close said tube when said sections are in closed position and permit use of the contents of said tube when said sections are in open position.
2. A device of the character described, comprising, a tube holder having front and rear secsaid sleeve whereby to close said tube when said sections are in closed position and permit use of the contents of said tube when said sections are in open position, and a spring mounted in said rear section and engaging said front section for moving said` front section to open position upon release of said latches from said keepers Whereby to permit access to the contents of said tube.
