Description

13. 21, 1 939Q -QJ.IJ.BRUMER 2,148,102
' v BOWLING DICE GAME Filed Sept. 2, 1937 INVENTOR. Jolm J Brumer BY W wwu/ ATTORNEY.
Patented Feb. 21, 1939 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE BOWLING DICE GAME Application September 2, 1937, Serial No. 162,078
1 Claim.
This invention relates to a dice game and more particularly to a novel bowling dice game in which a plurality of cubes are employed and which are shaken in a container and thrown unto 5 a flat surface for simulating the conventional game of bowling.
An object of the invention is to provide a game which will be simple and economical of manufacture and will permit of competitive play similar to the game of bowling.
Another object of the invention is to provide a game of extreme simplicity which will achieve a wide variety of play results.
Other and further objects of the invention will 15 appear as the description proceeds, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective of the dice shaker and a plurality of the dice or cubes employed in my an invention.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a plurality of the dice marked with conventional ten-pins.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a plurality of the cubes or dice of the umnarked cubes or dice.
:5 Referring more particularly to the drawing,
the numeral It) represents a dice shaker or container employed in games of this type. The
numeral It refers to dice or cubes employed in playing the game, In a plurality of the dice, II,
I! a face, II, of each is marked with a conventional ten-pin facsimile, l3.
The dice, H,- are formed of any suitable material in exact cubes and are intended to be placed in the container or shaker, l0, and after shaking said container and cubes they are thrown on a level surface in customary manner with the result that one or more of the ten-pin facsimiles may face upwardly. The number of ten-pin faces 5 appearing upwardly after a throw is taken to indicate the number of ten-pins left standing after a single bowling operation. If three tenpin facsimiles face upwardly the player is entitled to another throw in which the said three cubes are shaken and played. If none of the tenpin faces of the three cubes appears upwardly the-player is said to have a spare. Each player is entitled to two throws as in bowling and if none of the ten-pin faces appears upwardly on 5 the first throw, the said player has achieved a strike. It will readily be understood that the plays will follow closely the scores obtained in a conventional bowling game.
It will be understood that the device is capable of many modifications in structure and design, without departing from the spirit of the invention within the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
In a simulated bowling game, a plurality of dice to represent bowling pins, certain of said dice having all blank faces, certain other of said dice having one face only provided with indicla representing a bowling pin.
JOHN J. BRUMER.
