This invention relates to stationery and has for one of its objectsto Aprovide a sheet of stationery adapted to be folded for mailing purposes and provided with a ap, which fiap is adapted to be engaged internally with the folded sheet to hold same folded and substantially doncealed when so engaged, the flap being also adapted to be folded and secured externally to the folded sheet and exposed to View when so engaged.

It is also an object of my invention to provide a space for the addressees name and address on the side of the folded sheet to which the flap is secured when exposed to View and a return address on the flap.

A further and more specific object is to provide a sheet of stationery having a space for a letter and for a reply, said sheet being adapted to be folded to conceal said space, there being a flap on said sheet adapted to be engaged with the folded sheet to hold same folded for mailing unsealed and provided with a return address concealed when said flap is so engaged, the sheet having a space for the addressees nan-le and address exposed to View when the sheet is folded and said fiap being adapted to be folded and secured in position over the addressees name and address to conceal the same and to expose the return address on the flap.

Further objects and advantages of my invention will appear from the following detailed description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a view showing the inner side of an unfolded sheet of stationery embodying the present invention;

Figure 2 is a view showing the opposite side of the unfolded sheet;

Figure 3 is a view showing the sheet partially folded;

Figure 4 is a perspective View showing the sheet substantially completely folded and the manner in which the flap is engaged internally with the folded sheet to hold the same folded for mailing unsealed; and

Figure 5 is a perspective view showing the flap folded and secured externally to the folded sheet with the return address on the flap exposed to view.

Referring to the drawing, the sheet of stationery 5 selected for illustration has on its inner surface a space at 6 for a letter and a space at 'I for a reply. Any suitable letterhead 8 may be provided above the space 6 if and as desired.

One side 9 of the sheet is provided intermediate its ends with a flap I0 which may be formed (Cl. 22S- 92.7

integral with the sheet 5 as shown or may be made up separately and suitably secured to the sheet within the scope of the appended claims. The flap IU 1s preferably joined to the side 9 of the sheet 5 by a perforated or otherwise suitably weakened line I2. The back side of the sheet 5 is provided at I4 with a space for the addressees name and address. The flap I 0 is provided, along the outer margin of its front side, with a suitable adhesive I5 and the back side of the flap Ill bears the return name and address at I6.

In use the letter, which may be a circular, business, personal or other letter, is written in the space at 6. 'Ihe opposite ends of the sheet 5 are then folded along the transverse lines of fold I'I and I8 as shown at I9 and 2|] in Figure 4, whereupon the sheet thus folded is folded in the direction indicated by the arrows in Figure 3, along the longitudinal median line of fold 2l, substantially as shown in Figure 4. The flap I0 is then folded in the direction indicated by the arrows in Figure 4 and is engaged internally between the folded portions I9 and 20 and the address-bearing portion I4 of the sheet. In this position the flap I0 holds the sheet folded for mailing unsealed and the flap with the return address thereon is concealed within the folded sheet. Postage suitable for an unseal'ed letter is applied at 22 and the folded sheet is ready for mailing.

Upon receipt by the addressee the flap IIJ is withdrawn from its engagement with the folded sheet as above described, and upon writing the reply, order, or the like in the space at TI, the sheet is folded as before except that the flap I0 is now folded and secured by the adhesive I5 externally to the folded sheet as shown in Figure 5. In this position the flap ID covers the addressees name and address at I4 and exposes to View the return name and address at I6. Letter postage is -applied at 24 and the sealed sheet is ready for return. Upon receipt the device is opened along the weakened line I2.

I do not intend to be limited to the precise details shown or described.

I claim:

1. A sheet of stationery adapted to be used for a letter and for a reply, said sheet being adapted to be folded along a pair of transverse lines of fold and along a generally longitudinal median line of fold to conceal said letter and reply, a flap joined to one side of said sheet by a weakened line between said transverse lines of fold and adapted to be engaged with the folded sheet to hold same folded for mailing unsealed and provided With a return address on its back side and concealed when said flap is so engaged, the addressees name and address adapted to be placed on its back side and between said transverse lines of fold and exposed to View when the sheet is folded, and said flap being adapted to be folded and secured in position over the addressees name and address to conceal same and to expose the return address on the flap.

2- A sheet of stationery adapted to be folded for mailing purposes and provided with a flap along one side, said flap being engaged internally with the folded sheet to hold same folded for mailing with the flap substantially concealed from View, said flap being also adapted to be folded and secured externally to the folded sheet and exposed when so secured for return mailing, the addressees name and address adapted to be placed on the outer face of the folded sheet in position to be concealed by said ap When said iiap is secured thereto in exposed position, and a return address on said ap.

3 A sheet of stationery adapted to be used for a letter and for a reply, said sheet being adapted to be folded to conceal said letter and reply, a -ap on said sheet engaged with the folded sheet to hold the same folded for mailing unsealed and provided with a return address concealed when said ap is so engaged, the addressees name and address adapted to be placed on the outer face of the folded sheet in position to be exposed to View when the sheet is folded in unsealed condition, said ap being adapted to be folded and secured in position on the outer face of the sheet over such name and address to conceal the same and to expose the return address on the ap.

4. A sheet of stationery adapted to be folded for mailing purposes and provided with a flap having a return address printed thereon, said flap being engaged internally with the folded sheet to hold the same folded for mailing With the fiap substantially enclosed to conceal the return address printed thereon.
