IMPROVEMENT IN SPRING-BRACELETS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 209, S 17, dated November 12, 1878; application filed September 28, 1878.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, FREDERICK YOUNG and EDWARD G. KEER, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Spring-Bracelets, of which the following is a specification:

The figure is a sectional view, and shows the relation of the operating-spring to the sections of the bracelet.

Our invention relates to bracelets made in sections, and arranged to be closed by a spring in the joint, and held so that if the catch should be accidentally opened the bracelet would be held closed, and would not come off the wrist and be lost.

The bracelet is made in two sections, as ordinary ones of this kind,jointed at one end, A, and having a catch at the other, B. In connection with the joint is arrangeda metal spring, C, to act upon the sections of the bracelet to press them together and hold them closed. This spring lies inside of the end of the bracelet and passes over the joint, having a small 1 slot in the end of each section through which it is inserted, and the ends extend each way from the joint, and are shielded or covered by the hinge and the inside or lining, and adapted.
