Arrangements of thiskind are already known 6 in which a special device for throwing or flinging the ball is provided in addition to the cup and the handle. In many cases both hands must be used when playing. whilst in others a special spring has to be set in tension. 10 The ball and cup game of-the present invention enables the cup to be operated with one hand, without any special diillcuity, because the handle of the cup is so designed-in order to. serve at the same time for throwing or slingingthe ballinside the cup that it grips the ball after the manner of a tongs and, on being squeezed, allows the ball to slip out and be flung. The handle is 1 preferably designed as-a spring bow,in order that it may return into the catching position after so the ball has been discharged.

Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is:-- o 1. A ball-cup for ball and cup games in which a ball is thrown from a cup. saidcup being open at its upper and lower ends, and being provided with a U-shaped handle of spring material within the cup and extending downwardly therefrom, 7

one leg of said handle being secured at its upper end to said cup and the other leg having its upper end free within the cup, both of said legs 5 being shaped at a point adjacent the lower end of said cup to 'define aball clamp, said handle being arranged to be squeezed in the hand of a user to release a ball as the ball is being thrown from the cup. l0

A ball cup for ball and cup games in which a ball-is thrown from a'cup, said cup being conical in form and being open at bothen'ds, said cup being provided with a U-shaped handle of spring material within the cup and extending 16 downwardly therefrom through the reduced end of the cup, one leg of said handle being secured at its upper end to said cup and against the inner face of the wall of the cup and the other leg of said handle having its upper end free within 20 saidcup. both of said legs being shaped at a point adjacent the reduced end of said cup to define a ball clamp, said handle being arranged to be squeezed in the hand ,of a user to release a ball as the ball is being thrown from the cup.

A ball cup for ball and cup. games in which a ball is thrown from a cup, said cup being open at its upper and lower ends and having upper and lower terminal edges, a handle for said cup shaped to define a ball clamp and a ball pocket immediately below the lower edge of said cup, said handle being formed of a bowed piece of spring metal having one end secured to said cup and having the other end free and terminating adjacent the lower end oi said cup, said handle being arranged squeezable in the hand of a user to release a ball as the ball is being thrown from the cup.

A ball cup for ball and cup games in which a ball is thrown from a cup, said cup being shaped in the forni of afunnel and open at its upper and lower ends, a handlesecured to and extending below the lower end of said cup and shaped to define a ball clamp adjacent thelower end of said cup, said'handle being fonned of. a bowed piece of spring metal having one end secured to said can and having the other end free and terminat-- ing adjacent the lower end of said cup said handle being arranged squeeaable in the hand
